Yeah, the one that had all first time starters on it, sans Mark Barron.

1. Nobody in the SEC returns more than Bama 15 starters. Only had 8 Seniors. Lost 3 Juniors.
2. Defense. Ended the year at number 3 in scoring nationally. Number 1 in the SEC and # 5 in the Nation in total defense. Defense was extremely young this year. Pass rush was almost non existent early in the year as the new players worked on learning system ( 11 sacks first 9 games ). Defense began to come together late ( 21 sacks in last 4 games ). Secondary led nation with 22 interceptions. Tied with Florida. Defense is adding 2 JUCO All Americans to defensive line next year. Bama will have best Defense in the nation for 2011.
3. Schedule. Bama has most of their big games at home this year compared to having to go on the road last year. Bama will not be playing 6 SEC teams after having a week off prior to playing Bama.
Recruiting. No one has recruited better than Bama over the last 4 years. This team is loaded.
Recruiting Rankings Per Rivals:
2008 - #1
2009 #1
2010 - 5
2011 - Currently #2. Will finish #1
Coaching. Most people would place Nick Saban as the number 1 coach in the nation. At least top 5.
With all that being said. LSU will be loaded also and will have the best chance on knocking off Bama. In the east Florida has a boat load of talent however we still dont know what the coaching will be like there.

I wasn't aware that a bad game constitutes the inability to never improve. There were three first year starters in the secondary. McElroy had a pretty solid day against LSU's secondary in 2009, but that didn't prevent improvement. Hell, does Auburn's 400 yard rushing effort against LSU mean the run defense will suck for LSU in 2011?

Was this the same LSU defense that allowed over 400 yards rushing to Auburn?

we brought in new players that improved it (first year starters and true freshmen)

Jay Barker won the NC as a soph. QB is not as demanding in our offense as it as at some places.

Oh snap! Hilliard just scheduled an official to BAMA cause he likes our new d-line coach. He said they're real close.

Speaking of, I have to show you a quote from a BOL article I read yesterday. It was just a status update on all the freshmen from this year at Bama.

quote:

S Jarrick Williams -- Played in four games in 2010, including the Crimson Tide's 49-7 win over Michigan State in the Capital One Bowl. Recorded an assisted tackle against the Spartans, his lone stop of the season. Looked to be headed for possible medical redshirt but was called upon to fill money position in UA's dime package after Barron went down with pectoral tear against Auburn. Will continue to vie for playing time at both safety and money in the spring.

Apparently he recovered just in time!
