It was always Alabama-Tennessee for me.

If it comes down to choosing permanent rivalries, how do they determine the rivalries? Do the schools pick?

So are you guys saying that you would rather play Tennessee because they are a bigger rival or because you don't enjoy playing Auburn? Does the Tennessee rivalry have all of the game nicknames that the Iron Bowl does like "Punt Bama Punt", "Bo Over the Top", or "The Van Tiffin Kick"? I feel like I'm hearing Yankees fans saying they would rather end the Red Sox series and play the Mets instead.

I am not sure what who I know has to do with the price of tea in China. Have I met him? Yes several times. He was several years ahead of my time. Do I know him? No, absolutely not.
I answerred a question to Bama fans about what Bama fans think and two Boogs have an issue?

Well, I do refer to UT fans as "frickfaced assclowns who drill their kin with household goods". So...

You are one of the few on this site that has been pretty consistent in your hate for UT. I find it comical all of these "boog", "barner" *uburn, hating posters are being honest when they make the claim that the UT game means more. It is pretty evident that most use this as another in a long line of tired talking points to belittle AU or make themselves feel superior.
However, I know a select group of Bama fans, particularly in southern Tennessee and parts of North Alabama that truly do have more hate for UT.

Thanks for sharing the name games, but does the TN rivalry cause your school to do this?
Or the head coach to say this?
Or the head coach to say this?

If you guys weren't so insecure and a guaranteed draw to threads like these, maybe it would get old.

quote:Probably so. Of course, if you guys weren't so insecure as to need to constantly remind yourselves that AU doesn't mean anything to you because they are "little brother" it would never start in the first place.

It goes back further than shite like that. Coach Bryant played against UT with a broken leg. He said that "You don't know what type of team you have until they play Tennessee". You think Tubbs started the cigar smoking thing? Think again...

History and the importance of the UA/UT game goes way beyond anything AU will ever bring to the table.
Yet you're so concerned with how auburn handles their business. Double talk is fun.
also the beating the banner for yesteryear seems to be the way this thread is going. I don't know anyone who is arguing that auburn vs bama is more historic. Just confused by most of your (bama fans) actions, hatred for anything auburn then you gushing about how auburn game isn't that important becuase the games didn't come from the way back machine.
Look i've said it before and i'll say it again now...the iron bowl needs to go on hiatus...most of you agree, then say it's not that big of a game. So we can agree the hate and vitriol of the fans has made it deserving of a hiatus but then say it's not that heated.
FOr now i'll look to future games to be played and not circle my wagons around games played when color tv was a mad mans ambition.
