I think it’s Saban. I ain’t ever liked the guy. I thought we should’ve left his arse in Miami and refocused our efforts on getting rid of Rich Rod’s crazy old lady.

Yes, it’s amazing what you guys have been able to accomplish in spite of Saban.

Coordinators are not NEAR as good as previous years. Has Pete holding or BOB really been considered for another job?
If so bye…..

The OL is atrocious. I watched GA’s OL last year for the title. EVERY play those boys blocked until the whistle and we’re picking themselves up off the ground.
Bama OL are ALWAYS standing up after the play adjusting their knee brace or shoulder pads, not finishing a block and picking themselves up off the ground. They won’t even get behind RB or player with the ball and push for positive yards.

Two of the most glaring deficiencies I see from the 2014-2018 teams.

The talent is certainly there. I just think Saban has lost the will to fire and hire new coordinators, bring them up in his system before he blows out the candle Time is not on his side.

Sounds like a host of Alabamer excuses. Like the ones presented ad nauseum on this board. Tiresome, but that’s what’s going on.

BoB.
Defense held texas to 19 points. Maybe if their starter had not gone down they put up 30. Bama’s talent could put up 50. 15 penalties, 100 yards. Who was responsible for this? BoB

BoB had Deshaun Watson and really good receivers etc. at Houston, He was stale, predictable. I could almost always call what plays he’d run in the red zone. Also, ask any past player and realize BoB can’t relate. He was not liked by the Texan players.

It’s Saban’s fault for hiring him and keeping him. At a minimum, he should get his fat asse down on the field and get into the game.

Bama will lose 2-3 games this year because of him.

With the way the offense and defense are run I would not be one bit surprised if we lose at least 3 games this year.

Our issues were the following:
1) Traveled on Friday to an 11 am kick, not used to this
2) Rowdy crowd which frustrates a defense and offense
3) poor scheme on defense side. No stunts on offense. Almost no blitzing
4) heat
5) no band. Sounds crazy but when it feels like you are alone you push which leads to mistakes
6) terrible coaches shirts. They looked like middle schoolers.
7) players read the press. Too much rat poison. 20 point favorites

Let the season play out. We are supposed to win it all this year. If we don’t, it’s a failure.

saw this post elsewhere....what are your thoughts about the points made? Right on, almost on, missed the mark? I'm curious myself because Bama didn't even look like itself out there vs. Texas.

Patterson had a hand in that assisting UTx's defense, but still....Bama's come up against stouter defenses and better athletes before and I just wasn't expecting to see what I saw.

Anyhow, here's an excerpt....

What I think is going on at Bama...and other thoughts...

Culture.

I think the culture at Bama is eroding. What evidence do I have. Attitudes last year. This year...

I saw a video of Nick Saban yelling at his team to "Stop that Sh**" when the Bama players were giving the horns down sign.

Why?

1. The support staff and coaches. Not the same as it was lets say when he had that ridiculous 2015 staff. From what I can tell it's not the same.

2. LOS...their best OL and DL players from last season are gone. Its not like ours where we have talent, desire and ability just lacking experience.

3. Coaching philosophy...how many times do we hear "physicality" from Kirby?...btw not sure that is a real word but it is a real state of mind. It just doesn't seem to me that this is stressed.

4. Coaching staff turnover. This seems to happen more so than when Saban was building Bama.

It just seems to me that the mindset of that program is not what it was when Kirby was there. It has been a slow burn...IMO.

As an earlier poster said, this is a bunch of horse manure. I know what you think...or hope. That its over at Bama and bama now sux.

Let's get real. Bama went to Texas. Not Samford, Texas. This isn't a great team but they are TEXAS, they are improved, Sark admitted they passed on a couple other games and game planned this since July. Bama went to Austin where Horn folks admitted this may have been the biggest game in Austin, not in the last 10 years, not the last 30 but EVER. Estimations claimed that close to 300K descended on that campus. Bama played poorly, 15 penalties, countless drops, stupid calls by BOB.....and STILL WON. I haven't seen any quotes where patterson said the Bama culture is eroding. Fake news. Is this one of Bama's best teams, no. Does this team suck, no. Yes, Kirby's defenses were great but so were Pruitts. As far Horns down, this isn't the first time Saban has chastised his team for doing something stupid like that. you will never see Saban keep his team on the 50 yard line at another teams field and talk about how he's gonna beat their a$$ going forward. The Bama standard is the Bama standard. Tough game at Texas and I expect them to not show up like that the rest of the season. THAT game was their season.

I have read and heard just the opposite and from 2nd hand accounts as well.

Idk the truth of any of it myself but I don't buy stock that we have an eroding culture at all.

Suppose time will tell the tale, as always.

I have heard this team is a super unified group, but I'm sure the Texas game was a challenge like it would have been for any team.

18 year olds don't like hearing a 70+ year old telling them how it is.

I tend to agree. It's gotten worse since 2016 on. Bama next season should be back at 2007 level across the board.

That is certainly true for a large majority.

But the minority that want to have a very successful future do.

Keep in mind ... the same was speculated last Nov after they barely squeaked-by a mediocre Auburn team.

Then, the following weekend, the same Bama team dominated #1 UGa.

We hear about our demise 3-4 times per season and then end up in Atlanta and the playoffs. This doesn't seem all that different to me.

We have some things to work out, and I'm not sure if we have the offensive scheme to win it all, but we will be right in the thick of it as usual.

I had no idea it would be this way when Georgia won. I’ll never pull for them again.
