Yes, you're absolutely right. I thought I had seen Gene Stallings the other day at the store. I ran up to him and started screaming go Big Orange, you know, so that he knew I'm a Tennessee fan. Turns out, it wasn't Stallings but whatever, it seemed like the thing to do at the time.

The only time I generally say roll tide to a member of another teams fanbase is if I know them and are fricking with them. Otherwise the only ppl I say that to are other Alabama fans.

I wore a Bama shirt underneath a Purdue jersey when they played Notre Dame this year. Some a-hole ND fan was walking through yelling "Go Irish!" and holding his hand up for a high five, like they owned the place.
I laughed and raised the jersey, showing him the Bama t-shirt, and his faced just collapsed and his friend starting laughing his arse off. It was one of the funniest exchanges I've witnessed. It's hilarious to remind Midwesterners where their place is in college football when they least expect it.

I would say that most people who yell out things in public, no matter if they are cheering on their team or not, are usually idiots. I love Alabama. It doesn't mean I should go around shouting like a monkey or something. Same goes for any other team/chant.
