Yea let's shite on the thread

This is America. Law abiding citizens carry guns every day. Let's not imply that everyone carrying a gun has bad intentions.

quote:

SHALIMAR, Florida -- A gun charge in the Florida Panhandle has been dropped against former San Francisco 49ers running back Glen Coffee.

According to a court document signed Thursday, Assistant State Attorney William Bishop determined that Coffee did not violate the law by having a loaded pistol in the center console of his 2008 Cadillac during a traffic stop. Under Florida law, a person can possess a concealed firearm if it?s "securely encased."

Where was that implied?

I was just pointing out that the timeline of him leaving the NFL and joining the military had another pit-stop on the way...which involved him trying to get involved with the ministry and then getting arrested. Him getting arrested with a gun doesn't make him a bad guy.

Why shite on a thread?

There's always someone who feels the need to point out the least little negative shite in the middle of a good will story.

Just strange dropping the opportunity to make millions. That doesn't happen often. I know he didn't love the game anymore, but come on how many people hate their jobs? I admire him for going after his dream. Not enough of us do that.

I remember he came to the niners and then declared that the NFL wasn't much harder than playing in the SEC. So there's that.

Pretty much impossible to play in the NFL without dedicating your life to it and he apparently didn't wanna do that.

Being a RB in the NFL typically means bad health later in life.

Congratulations for the most ignorant post in the history of TD. So you're saying that enlisting in and graduating from Airborne School and not attempting to become a Green Beret takes LESS dedication than playing a game for a living? OK.....

The guy has accomplished more at 26 than most of us ever will.

He's got some pretty remarkable things to tell his grandchildren -- played football at Alabama, played in the NFL, and served(s) in the Army as a paratrooper. Per Wikipedia, he wants to be a Green Beret. All of us would hang our hat on one of those.
