He is asking this after we just went 11-1. If we were 9-3 it would make more sense would it not?

Why do you have to wait for a bad season before asking the question?

Never thought I’d see the day that 7SU’s expectations for Bama exceeds Bama fans’ expectations for Bama.

Does he get a leash like Paterno and Bowden got? Mediocre seasons, but he's earned the right to coach as long as he'd like, or two-three 8-4 type and he's shown the door?

He's earned the right coach as long as he wants. We are 11-1 and lost on the road, to our biggest rival, which is also the hottest team in the country, and we are still very likely to make the playoffs which just makes it a 2-game season.

I know the OP is a troll but look around at the shite show that is the SEC and anyone would trade their existing coach for Saban.

If he wants the right to stay as long as he wants to, then I think he needs to take a pay cut.

Well, TBH, this is the worst team Saban has fielded in many years and it couldn’t have come at a worse time. We have a numbers crunch and won’t be able to sign a full 25 this NSD and many of the studs we have like Minkah will be leaving. Another year where we are a paper tiger is quite possible in 2018 and some of the bandwagon fans may start to question Lord Saban’s abilities.
It will be interesting to see what changes are made in the offseason both on staff and on the field. Will Bama reload with some of the young 5 stars from previous classes who have been buried and forgotten on the depth chart or will we struggle some and lay the groundwork for a 2019 resurgence? Or has Tdecline begun? I doubt the last one, but people will speculate. It will be interesting to watch.

If they don't make the playoffs this year, the Gumps will be calling for his head. That's just how it works!

When 20 or 30 women step forward to let everyone know they have been sexually harassed by Saban, who we find out has a thing for tall coeds (relatively speaking), peanut butter by the gallon and visqueen.

You don't, and you won't have to. A guy like him will know when it's time to walk away. And as you said, that's not likely for a few years.

44, you realize that while i agree that this is enough you are talking about something that will cost countless bama fans their lives?

To answer the question I dont think you ever ask him to step down. He has earned that right. For those that think hes lost his edge I simply point to all of the SEC programs that have dumped their coach in the last few years trying to catch him (including UGA / my team). Also how many teams have hired away a Saban guy in the hopes of starting the process? And of those guys how many have beaten him? Answer ...zero. He aint going nowhere anytime soon unless he gets sick of the bitching. Now as I wipe the spunk of my face I will say I think Saban will be unable to maintain his dominance for much longer. The scholly limits are not allowing him to stack talent like he used to. I also think looking back at his legacy that losing Smart will be one of the turning points. That said Hes gonna be good for a while but doubt he continues to win a Natty every other year.

Agree. The man is 66 and will be turning 67 shortly after the season starts next year. He won't be able to keep it going forever. At some point you have to think that there is more to life than working your arse off 24/7. That's just how it works.

The only side kick Finebaum should ever have is Neil Vickers. No one will ever get Paul riled up like Vickers used to do. I haven’t listened to him much since that part of the show changed. Vickers was tGOAT.

I don't care anything about the riled up part. I don't want to hear people raising their voices at each other and acting like the loudest person knows the most. I want entertainment and feel like I have gained some sports knowledge. Laura gave me both.

ETA She impressed the hell out of me. She handled the callers with class. She handled the guests with class. She knows what she is talking about too.
