It's called "football".

Every year teams need luck to win a championship. Look at Notre Dame this season, they're undefeated but they've had to have a lot of breaks, or "luck", go their way to be that way.

People act like UA should decline their invite to the BCSCG or give back last year's trophy since they didn't go undefeated and win every game by 40 points, when if the shoe was on the other foot and it was their team in UA's position, they would be soaking it up like they're the team of destiny.

by using your logic, LSU did too

but if you going purely based on the regular season, Bama's "running the gauntlet" this year was no more impressive than what many championship teams accomplish and arguably matched by some teams not in the championship game.

2-1 vs ranked teams. The two wins were squeakers. Congrats.

Uh, that would be 4-1. Michigan and MSU were ranked when we played them and when you play them is when it matters. Cause you then have become part of the reason they were are not ranked later. Logic 101.

What's the old saying...sometimes it's better to be lucky than good? In Bama's case they're both good AND lucky.

So Arkansas is also a ranked team as well. So you can also claim the Arkansas win? Do I have this logic right?

You honestly believe that Michigan and MSU are two of the top 25 teams in the country?

No. No it doesnt. Michigan was exposed for being a fraud by multiple teams and yall played them based off a preseason ranking which is essentially meaningless. No one had even seen michigan play yet, yet yall are supposed to get credit for beating a "top 10 team" Same with state. Big whoop you beat a team that because of a piss poor schedule was ranked. Ole Miss put it on them.

Bama deserves to be in the BCSNG

but to say you ran the gauntlet means you won all those games.... you didn't. Get what you're trying to brag about, but your word choice is full of what we've come to expect

Florida and Bama?

I think I understand how y'all "logically" get to 14 national championships.

It was the REC (The Authority if you're from Bon Temps--Volturi if you're from Forks) paid the refs to give all the calls to Bama, hand pick our schedule, shoot JFK from the grassy knoll, and caused Obama to get re-elected.

Exactly right. We never had one call go against us all season. Bless the REC!

First of all, while other SEC teams may have played similar schedules, we are the ONLY ones that are 12-1 and we are the ONLY ones that are SEC Champs. DWI

quote:

Michigan was exposed for being a fraud by multiple teams
I'm afraid you don't know what the word "fraud" means. Losing by 7 to ND (#1 team in the country) and Ohio State by 5 (Likely #1 or 2 team in the country if not on probation) can hardly be considered a fraud. They had 2 bad losses; Bama by 4TDs when both teams were completely healthy and Nebraska by 14 (Bad loss, much worse after the beating they took last night).

Fact is Bama whipped a pretty good Michigan team, destroyed an Arky team that put up a pretty good fight against the LSU juggernaut and Mettsiah, soundly handled an Ole Miss team that, ahem, lost to said juggernaut, pasted a Tennessee team that held its own against UGA and USCe, beat said juggernaut at home, at night, in front of a hostile crowd with said "siah" having the game of his life which was not seen before or since (Talk about fraud. Towsen? Really?), overcame adversity against the Heisman trophy winner (I love you Aggies but you know if we run 4 times with less than 2 mins we probably win), finished off Chiz (12-10 juggernaut? Really?), and again overcame adversity against an inspired, VERY good UGA team in the greatest SECCG in history to go to 12-1.

Call it what you want but Bama deserves to play in the BCSCG. Yep needed luck because we lost to the Aggies, of course some could say we made our own luck by not packing it in and winning the rest of our games. Roll Tide
