In 2009, McCoy got hurt on the 3rd play of the game. That hurt Texas' chances.

In 2011, LSU had a great team, but when Les doesn't make any adjustments before and during the game it wasn't Saban's biggest challenge.

In 2012, Notre Dame didn't belong on the same field. Outmanned badly against the best SEC team. Bama's other wins over LSU and Georgia were most impressive.

In 2015, the road was very tough. I think this Bama team faced huge adversity early in the season starting 0-1 in SEC and still having road games like TAMU, Georgia, Miss State, etc. Just one other loss would have likely ended their chances, but Saban got the best from his guys. I laughed at the thought of Coker winning a title this year. If I actually have a favorite Bama team, it is this one. It was not an easy task to not only get there, but to beat a very good team in the title.

this was maybe the most focused title team we have had. 09 had incredible focus but at the same time, they had never been there before and even they were a little star struck I believe at times through the post season. This team had seen the mistakes of the past teams and had it in their heads that this shite wasnt over until 0:00 in Glendale and thats the way they played.

But what can I say? Bama played a tough schedule this year, they have played like the #1 team in the country ever since the Ole Miss loss and they just beat a damn good, insanely motivated Clemson team that no one else in the country would have beat last night.

And on top of that, bama won that game last night with coaching, not just having greater talent. The onside kick and Kiffin's use of Howard at key moments made the difference.

Hell of a team . The difference between Alabama and Clemson and everyone else was a country mile. And the Tide won,so, that was one phenomenal football team.

TnM83 is probably curled up in a fetal position somewhere on the street after drinking himself into a stupor after the game.

I've got his password and log in info and plan to praise bama all day.

When he wakes up and sees what has happened, he will probably kill himself. Should be fun.

Can add in 2011 perhaps Okie State should have been in the game and in 2012 undefeated OSU wasn't eligible

Saban is pretty damn good though

As to your comment about "deserving it" more than any other year... I think it's disingenuous of any sports fan to minimize any teams that have done what they needed to do to win the trophy at the end of the year. By that logic standard, the most deserving teams are only the ones that were at a disadvantage and found a way to win. Likewise, by that logic, teams that are more talented, and better coached are less deserving.

Winning, regardless of how or why, is what makes one deserving. It's not how physically talented they are. Not what they have to over come. After all, that's why there is a reward for the team that wins the big one.

I don't like minimizing any team (not just Bama) for kicking so much arse that no one stands a chance. IF ANYTHING, as long as the playing ground is level, the more a team brutalizes other opponents the more deserving. But even that is not a fair statement to the ones that had a harder road.

Perfectly fair, as a concept, doesn't exist in the world. It's just an idea. Strength of schedule is very, very hard to make "fair" to everyone. But, the NCAA rules that have been set up and tailored over the many years it's been going are the measures taken to ensure the fairest shake to all teams. If you win it all, under those rules, you are no more or less deserving than any team that has done the same thing.

Whew! DONE.
