How did A&M post accurate numbers past 100%?
There were "87,451" Saturday at JHS...I know there were more in the stadium.

It's Aggie math. We can't possibly understand it.

Our official capacity is like 82k.
For years we've used additional bleachers, mainly in the endzone, that aren't accounted for in the official capacity.

Sure it is. You bring in temporary bleachers and put folding chairs in every available spot around the field.
Now when it goes to 102,500 capacity - yeah, it will be tougher and maybe impossible to exceed the assigned seats because of the stadium design.

By that strict definition, no stadium has ever been filled to capacity.
Kyle seats 82,500 - but temporary stadiums were brought in for every game this year. We squeezed 90,000 in for a game against Neb a few years back (with a bunch of temp seats on the track and by letting students in with SRO seats), but the fire marshall put a stop to that.
(FWIW...USC and Miss St also average over capacity.)

So you didn't exceed capacity, you made capacity higher and then met it.

Why not just up the official capacity then?

Permanent seats v temporary
Temp seats aren't always utilized

Because it's made up and they're a bunch of liars.

Because it is temporary seating, not part of the actual permanent stadium seating.

If my son has a birthday party and only one person shows up, I'll just tell him not to worry. All the chairs in our house are temporary. His party was at infinity capacity.

Maybe if the party didn't require kids to sit in chairs, more people would come?
