It improves the caliber of games and forces teams in weak conferences to earn those guys. No more tOSU/Clemson getting a free pass to the playoffs and luring talent based on playoff appearance alone.

Bam a will stockpile 5*s til the REC is dismantled.

Very interesting. You don't like some ones comment so your answer is to get mad and vindictive.Sounds like our liberal left politicians . I have 4 kids that graduated from UGA and I teach part time at MCG so I am very interested in SEC football.

There's not enough parity in the world that is going to allow this Tennessee program to move up the food chain. And therein lays the real issue. It's not talent that has created this huge gulf, it's the guys at the top mismanaging these teams. A realignment of talent won't change poor leadership.

The rules would need to be tweeted as Saban figures out ways to get around them.

The NCAA tried that on Coach Bryant for 20 years, but he'd always figure it out!

In college the final four in the football playoff would be allowed 75 players for the next 2 seasons. This would prevent the hoarding of 4 and 5 stars

1- You can not tell anyone where they can or can not go to school.

2- A 75 player roster? Players would just play without scholarships as the ultimate goal is to make it to the NFL.

You really have not thought it out.

That was so true . Coach Broyles would say that that there were so many rules because Bryant kept finding ways to get around them.

Do like baseball to create parity

And actually enforce the rules and eliminate loopholes that allow bama to skirt the rules

Most young people don' t remember the hoarding of talent by Bryant.

or Notre Dame, Auburn, Georgia, USCw, Ohio State, Tennessee, Penn State, Michigan, Texas, Oklahoma, or any other school. Alabama was not alone in this

quote:

When Alabama went on probation and had their numbers reduced and watched closely by the NCAA

The Probation is not what really hurt, it was the years of speculation that hurt. You fool yourself if you think Alabama is not watched closely all the time (even under Coach Bryant), but it took actual lies to sanction Alabama.

While Auburn did beat Alabama several years in a row, while Alabama was under sanctions, Alabama does not need Auburn to be under sanctions to beat them multiple times.

Kids are told every year that the scholarships are gone These kids find other schools that have space available.

Not many, but if you reduce the scholarships, there would be quite a few. Players want to go where they have the best chance of making the NFL, and right now that is Alabama.

I can imagine if you dropped Alabama's scholarships to zero, Alabama, while Coach Saban is there, would still sign a top class

Do we really need/want to expand the playoffs? We had three games and all were blowouts. Sadly, it is more common than not. What would adding more of the same help?

If the player is that good, a scholarship can be found.

Your are right ,it was not just Alabama almost all of the winning programs hoarded players. That is why the NCAA has been trying for decades to make rules to level the playing field, Fewer scholarships , limits on walk ons, not giving a scholarship in another sports and playing football. Creativity never ends.

you want to fix the game and add balance, the only thing that will do is either go back to BCS format, or expand and change the playoff criteria. I am for the latter.

This would have eliminated. Bama from at least one CFP when they went in 4 but still won it all.

College football funds the athletic programs at most schools. Actually, if the other sports were eliminated, all schools athletic departments would be profitable.

I don't disagree. Bryant was successful everywhere he coached.

I once was fortunate enough to be on a plane going down to the Sugar Bowl with Coach Broyles (he was gonna do the TV color commentating). He was one of the nicest, most accommodating people I've ever met...a very funny guy!
