It’s amazing how many folks forget this.
In fairness they were going up and down the field all during the first half, it boggles the mind how much they were shut down int he second. When I first saw the fact, I had to go back and look it up.

The QB and the RB should room together since they are the players they are trying to build a franchise around

I would disagree. While the RB is no longer the centerpiece to the offense, if a team does not have a good running attack, their passing attack suffers greatly. In the NFL, a RB is still very important. not as important as he once was, but still a necessary part of the offense.

Baker Mayfield never got back to Katy Perry. Dude is just playing hard to get hoping Chubb to give him a go.

Hope Nick misses the unblocked blindside rusher coming around the end.

Build around QB and OL on offense and plug in cheap skill players. New England has done this forever. Gronk is a boss but he was not a first round pick. Until they took Sony this year, Belichick had never invested a high pick in a RB and they only used one on Sony because of his versatility.

Seems like the Browns front office realized that Baker needed a mature, hard-working and team oriented roommate to help him focus on the here and now of being an NFL player.

What Baker "needs" is a decent Oline that'll keep the pass rush from killing him.

Survivor or not, he better figure out quick he is in the pro's now. I'm guessing his coaches and his veteran teammates will be reminding him of that rather firmly when they hear what he said

I am not a big fan of Mayfield, but I read this entire article and didn't have a problem with it.

Don't get me wrong, Baker's a grade-A douche, but feel like people are making way more out of this than it is. Sounds like someone asked him about camp and he made a joke about how his roommate's team beat his team.

quote:

Talking to reporters on Saturday, Mayfield said he thinks about that loss to Georgia "every night," jokingly calling it a "sick joke" that he is roommates with Chubb during the camp. Mayfield continued to make light of the situation, saying the two have yet to speak about the game, adding "There’s still a little salt in the wound."

Throughout this thread people seem to think it was more than a very mildly funny thing to say.
