Got an email notification today that my ticket to the A&M vs OU football game, in the visitors allotment, will cost $277.78. Yikes! Is this normal, something new, or special treatment?

You don't even want to know what my season tickets cost.

You can get tickets online for much cheaper.

Go online the day before...people will be panic selling. Stubhub, craiglist, FB marketplace. Always have used them and never had an issue with them over 50 times(pro ticks, basketball ticks, etc)Never been scammed or bullshitted.

OU Texas tickets in the Cotton Bowl are now about $300 for the cheapest ticket too. You gotta pay to play.
Bring your band Aggies. They always get a standing O from the Sooner faithful at halftime.

quote:Certainly, waiting on the secondary market is the cheapest way to get in. However, for road games, I usually prefer to sit with other A&M fans, so I order through the school. The way we do it, you submit your requests along with your season ticket application. At the time they did this, we had prices for everyone but OU. So, yesterday, they sent us an email saying, congratulations, you got tickets to OU, now we are going to charge you 277.78 per requested ticket. Just a bit of an unexpected surprise. I assume we will charge them similar prices when OU comes to College Station.

Do you guys need to donate $5K/yr. to get on season tickets list?

That sounds about right. There are 8000 on the waiting list. I have a lodge box which is an outdoor suite and I pay a he'll of a lot more than $5000 in donor fees.

Aggie fans will feel right at home inside Gaylord

I haven't even gotten a notification to put in for away tickets yet. One of the schools is holding up the process and hasn't given LSU their ticket allotment yet.

I'm hoping to win the Powerball lotto. That way I can to stand in the aisles for the game and only pay a few grand.
Ringside seats for wrestling used to set you back about 20 bucks. Now they go for ten grand or more at the big events. We are steadily pricing out generations of fans.

I'm sure you feel at home playing in a stadium named for an Oklahoma born OU All American.

Agreed, I saw them the last time they performed in Norman, we watched them practicing on the field south of the stadium, always a good show.

It's the new normal. The home team sets the ticket prices on the away team and I feel like 20 years ago it was something of a gentleman's agreement where prices charged to each other (for recurring matchups) stayed relatively consistent. Ever so slowly one team would charge UGA a lot more than "usual", then in return we'd charge them more the following year, which they would increase the next year, and so on. It's out of control and idk when it'll ever stop.
The first triple digit face value ticket I ever bought for a regualr season game was when we played OSU in stillwater in 2009. It was $100 and I couldn't believe it. Fast forward barely over 10 years later and UGA was charged $206 for our games at bama and at ole miss 2 years ago. I'm sure both teams will charge us even more this year. It's ridiculous and untenable.

Wait until after we play them. Oklahoma fans will be selling them at bargain basement prices the following day.

quote:For the best club seats, the costs (including the "donation") is $5,655. We don't have a "waiting list" as such. Every year, after renewals, all available seats are up for grabs for new purchasers, or folks wanting to improve, based on their priority points (largely a combination of giving and prior ticket purchases). Theoretically, you could make your very first contribution this year, and if it's big enough, jump to the head of the line in the seat selection, but that wouldn't guarantee you anything; it all depends on who didn't renew.
