This is anecdotal but my in-law who's an APD officer said the Austin DA actively throws out cases involving tussles with police, and then looks into misbehavior of the LEOs who were involved.

The mayor follows the same anti-LEO policy.

Just avoid being alone when you're here for a game, and the usual haunts of urban squalor and you'll be fine.

Went to the LSU/UT game in 2019 and felt safe, we stayed away from the I-35 homeless masses though. Also, with 100k fans out on the streets before/after the game as long as you stay with the masses you'll be fine.

Do you guys feel safe going to a game there? I said the other day my rental car had a window smashed in a few months ago. Now I read this today.

You'll be okay Karen

It's a lot better than any current SEC site. 12/14 of the current college towns would literally try to endanger my life if I stepped foot there.

Why?

You tell us. Texas was one of the last two teams to integrate black players in the entire SWC. Should we expect any more "issues"?

Fish camp lied to ya, A&M & Arkansas were the last 2 SWC programs to have an African American on scholarship for football.

Texas was the last all white National Championship roster.

I moved from Austin in 2019 not long after the LSU game, it’s a shame to hear that the city I liked so much has seen such problems in such a short time span

Austin is a fantastic growing city with great nightlife, awesome food, growing career opportunities. Don’t let these Idiot inbreds from shitty flyover states tell you otherwise. People who sit around watching too much Fox News from their mud hole in Mississippi.
