This thread is hilarious

Everyone knows this rivalry broke for good after 2010. Bad blood started with the 2007 game, but UGA completely lost their shite post-2010. The combination of Fairley and Auburn winning the title just drove UGA sidewalkers to extreme pettiness.

They've softened up a little with their record against us and Kirby getting them closer and closer. The only upside of them being good is we don't have to deal with as much passive aggressive crybaby shite these days. For 5-6 years they acted like bitter divorcees.

Amazing that Aubies got so pissy about UGA players doing what had been doing ALL SEASON LONG at home games but you guys have so little self awareness that you thought it was directed at the AU cult.

And you guys continually defend his actions and treat him like a cult hero and made him an honorary captain for the '17 game.BTW,he was also later arrested on gun charges and stalking.

Wrong and most UGA fans I know were cheering for AU against Oregon but probably never would have in retrospect.

You guys are so twisted by our recent dominance that you were cheering for Bama in the NC against us.

LOL what are you talking about? You won big and rubbed it in, and then proceeded to harass the shite out of AU people leaving town after a game you dominated. In what universe would the other fan base not get kind of riled up about it and then pretty enthusiastic about payback in 2010 (minus the shitty fans part).

Who's being a bitch now? Defend what actions? He was a dominant player. Whining about him getting arrested 8 years later (and after the 2017 game) is exactly the type of petty shite I'm talking about.

Nobody believes this shite.

Most AU fans were not. I was. How dumb would I have to be to want another one of our rivals to win a title?

You’re right about one thing, it didn’t used to be so nasty. It was always more heated along the hooch (Columbus, LaGrange, Ph City, & Opelika) but there are a LOT of friendships, marriages, family members that are AU/UGA. UGA fans were much more poorly behaved in 2006 than 2007 IMO.. And I was a lot more bothered by the headshot Rosegreen put on Reggie Brown than Fairley. I never got the pearl clutching over that.

It would probably settle back down a little if GA won the NC and Auburn started winning 50% of the DSOR again.

At Auburn? What exactly are you talking about?

Why? The Fairly spear in the back was a blatant cheap shot along with the diving at his knee and although the Rosegreen shot did more damage and could have been worse it was within the confines of the rules at the time.

He's talking about the players dancing to Soldier Boy, I think?

Taking cheap shots and raking his chin strap buckle across Murray's chin.

Gun charges and stalking is petty? I mean, it does speak to his character, does it not?

I was. I root for SEC in most OOC games and especially in National Championship games. FWIW, I got totally ticked off when they took USC and Oklahoma for the National Championship that year. (I admit I am old and can't remember what year it was. Shoot, I'm not even sure it was Oklahoma...but I do remember it was USC) I thought Auburn deserved to be in that game.

Most on this board were.

Isn't Alabama supposed to be your most bitter rival?

Bull on that. YOU were the reason it didn't happen because the SEC WASN'T going to lose TSIO over the IB. So, you stayed in the West & the SEC kept BOTH rivalries.

Also, the SEC will NEVER split schools from the same state into opposite divisions (Tn./Vandy; Miss./MSU, Ala./Aub.).

Disagree. If we win one most of our fans are going to go berserk....ESPECIALLY on here. there is a lot of bad blood built up over "1980" that if and when that gets replaced it will get ugly around here.

Because of proximity of the schools and the similarity of accomplishments, it will get ugly particularly with Auburn. I hope I am wrong, but I can almost feel the tension.

Yeah there were a lot of poorly behaved GA fans at that game. My only guess as to why Auburn fans didn’t notice was they seemed to be too pissed at Brandon Cox to care. We had no business winning that game.

This change also put Aub., Fl., & GT (I know at least 2 of these) either home or away the same year.....thanks to flipping DSOR's location in 2012/2013.

Actually, UGA & UGA were NOT both home or away the same year until the SEC flipped DSOR's location when adding TA&M & Mizz..

The SEC's decision to change f'ed up BOTH schools!

Almost every Aubie I talked to had their panties in a wad about the players dancing on the bench.Stop with the UGA fans being big meanies narrative...nobody talked about it.

pretty enthusiastic about payback in 2010

So Fairly's actions were justified and "payback"for Auburn fans getting harrased in a game that took place three years earlier?
You really wanna go with this bizarre narrative?

Who's being a bitch now? Defend what actions?

How bout taking a running start and spearing Murray in the back for one?

and after the 2017 game) is exactly the type of petty shite I'm talking about.

"Petty shite?" You're the one justifying his behavior because UGA fans were being big meanies THREE YEARS earlier...unbelievable.
And I believe his arrest took place one month after you named him honorary captain and it also attest to his character.

Wrong and most UGA fans I know were cheering for AU against Oregon but probably never would have in retrospect.

Don't GAS what you believe. The majority of fans I know were rooting for AU.Somewhat opposite to what happened in '18 NC game.

quote:

Most AU fans were not. I was

Of course you were and how dumb would it be to root for your arch rival to win a NC?

Sorry, not doubting you per se but haven't heard of this before.

There were plenty of games before that. Hell the ‘99 game at Uga. Their fan base showed what’s up there plus going back to the 80’s
