Agree 100%. My favorite game during the "streak" was the 2005 game, because both teams were good... and because Auburn blew Alabama out.
We had no chance after Closner went down. We were probably even more shallow, depth-wise that year than this year.

True, but I remember the T-shirts saying "Are you scared yet, Auburn?" and after that I will always relish that win.

We are basically set on offense, we are only lacking an offensive line coach.
Um, this is a pretty big deal.
On the other hand, the individual parts look good. We'll see how they mesh and how the Chiz runs the show.
Ron Zook had a good staff too.

And it should be handled soon... its not like we are going to go the entire off season without one.

I know, I know.
It was just funny to see this sort of in as an afterthought.
FWIW, Mike Shula's biggest downfall was Bob Conneley. Worthless.

Well, if Chizik wants to continue his trend of great hires, we could try and go after Searles from UGA again, but I really don't think we are going to get him.

He'll be a great addition to the Barn..

Looks like we hired a good offensive line coach in Jeff Grimes. Only one coaching position left to fill on the defense.

Bump for Auburn completing its football staff. In my opinion, this was a fantastic staff hiring.

I am amazed by the hires Auburn has made. Very strong coaching staff. Congrats.

Great staff. Can easily be argued they are the best in the SEC collectively. Now we will just have to wait and see how well they mesh and work together. So far so good in recruiting.

Lot's of folks in TN hated losing Trooper from what I gathered on their boards. Also seems to be a players coach. I think he is one of the better hires Auburn made in their staff. I think he is responsible for their better recruits the last few years that they did have.

He coached HS in Arkansas for some time. He won multiple state titles at multiple classifications.
Some here do not understand it, nor does the Auburn nation yet, but his offense, and title of his book, "The hurry up, no huddle offense", IS NOT chained to the spread. It can be run from the wishbone, the "I", the single wing, on and on and on. The goal is to maximize the time between plays. Malzahn's system breaks it down so that each player knows what to do in any circumstance to speed up the process of getting the next play off. For example, his receivers are responsible for retrieving an incomplete pass, and getting it to the nearest official while running back to the huddle.
GUS MALZAHN DOES NOT COACH A SPREAD OFFENSE. He coaches getting the ball off 5 seconds from the spot.
As a matter of fact, in 3 years of college ball at Arkansas and Tulsa, and 3 Conference Championship and 3 Bowl games, Gus's offenses have thrown the ball a grand total of one (1) less time than they have ran it. That is an amazing stat.
He already has two Rivals OC of the Year awards in three years. I wouldn't be surprised if he won a third soon.

Meh.. I don't get why anyone would doubt Gus Malzahn. The guy dominated while he coached in high school, and in the college game he won Offensive Coordinator of the Year at Arkansas before heading to Tulsa and having a fantastic offense there and winning another Offensive Coordinator of the Year award. He has definately proven himself capable to run an offense.

Trooper's a good guy. Very energetic. Almost knocked my brother down one time on a chest-bump.
But he caused problems because he did and Chavis did not get along with each other. Still, would've loved to have him back. Good get for Auburn.

haven't you heard? Nothing in the SEC works other than Pro-I formations because of the talent and athletes and speed in the SEC. Remember? Urban Myer's offense will NEVER work in the SEC.
