I think he’ll do fine, but not relative to auburn expectations. They should have been content with Gus honestly, usually getting at least 8 wins, jumping up occasionally, beating bama fairly frequently

Your ignorance is blinding obvious. Do yourself a favor and shut up talking about expectations when from your post it’s obvious you know nothing about SEC football before the early 2000s.

I'm afraid the OP has a point. Expectations are way too high on the plains. You have ultra rich boosters willing to shell out $21 million so they can call the shots and make a public university their own private sports club, so they expect to win. Not only win but beat Big Brother consistently. That is what's wrong in a nutshell with big time college football now. Boosters shell out money to influence decisions. They expect 10 wins a year for their investment.

I hear rival fans say this a lot, but what they are not considering is that the trajectory was heading down the toilet.

This isn't a new problem and it isn't unique to Auburn either.

Are you the one who doesn't know how to spell the new coaches name, but started a thread extolling his virtues? Something rings hollow there.

EDIT: yep, it's you - thread title: "Brian Harsin: By the numbers". LINK

Oh no. I spelled his name with an “I” instead of a “y”. Boy you sure did get me.

The point is you don't even respect him enough to notice his name, but somehow we're supposed to believe you think he will be a good coach, and should take that belief seriously? Not buying it.

I was going to say you taking the time and effort to edit your post with a link to my thread was the most pathetic thing I’ve seen on here in a long time. But then you went and started your own thread using my thread title and outdid yourself. Seriously, dude. I don’t know why you’re so bothered by Auburn hiring this guy, but get a grip on yourself.

He runs the Spread that uses the TE and uses a physical running game. Why won’t that work in the SEC? This is the typical post of someone that knows nothing about football.

If he can put players in a position to create mismatches for the defense I’ll be fricking ecstatic

Honest question - any idea what his contract will look like? I don't think they will regret the hire. He may not be the right one, but at least now they have an "unknown"

I don't think we know yet. Only thing I have heard is he has a small buyout. He was only making $1.95 mil at BSU.

Auburn couldn’t afford a big time coach - they offered the new guy a minimal package

Y’all called the spread a Mickey Mouse offense, and then Saban went to a spread after his defenses getting lit up by it.

his assistants that will come with him are not ready for sec ball

I must’ve missed this news. Who are they? We Auburn fans can always count on Bama fans to be the first ones to find out all things Auburn.
