I really don’t understand this hire. I thought the whole reason to move on from Malzahn was to hire a big name head coach. Seems like this is kinda like a lateral move. I don’t understand why you fire a guy that has proven he can win some games in the SEC just to hire a guy that has very little to no experience coaching in the South.

reason to move on from Malzahn

Reasons:
1. He had 8 years to win a road game at Baton Rouge, Athens , and Tuscaloosa. Gus was 0 for 12.

2. Gus was the fifth highest paid coach in America. The results were incongruent with that salary.

3. Gus did not have us on a trajectory of improvement either on the field or in recruiting.

It was time.

Even after multiple chances to revise the offense we were still bottom dwellers thanks to Gus not being willing to change with the times.

Isn’t it nice we always have Gumps to tell us what our schools are doing wrong. What all our schools need to do is supply our players with new Cadillac Escalades. Then the playing field will be even. Coach won’t matter.

Mr. Gambini, that is a lucid, intelligent, well thought-out objection.

No, the idea was to hire a coach who can revamp our offense and breath some life into the program. Big name never had anything to do with it.

We were 7th last year, genius. And the 2021 class could very well get past 25

Where have i heard this before?

Oh yes. Johnny Manziel is to little and will die in the sec. Then he proceeded to rip the sec a new a-hole. If aggy is in the b12 in 2012 they win a national championship.

And screw yall for making me speak well of aggy.

Pretty much every HC from another Conf who didn't line up in the I-Formation …
Spurrier, Mumme, Meyer, Kingsbury ect

All were mocked, all had players either win a Heisman or go to NY for the selection.
