First 11am kickoff since 2002 in Jordan Hare. Auburn won 31-7.
This should always be an afternoon or night game. Glad to see LSU back on the schedule but it’s sort of a bummer.

Agreed. Some matchups are just built for a night game. This is one of them.

Two first year head coaches and Auburn hasn’t been very good for almost a decade.
It makes sense

Auburn fans are delusional. They don’t draw national attention like they think they do. Check the viewership numbers over the last 5 years.

barn's lack of prestige really hurt the gametime here.

They’re in the Arkansas, Kentucky, etc. category now.
A lot of early kickoffs.

I love how Ole Miss fans chime in on every thread now like they are a big dog.
*Literally zero national titles they didn’t retroactively award themselves.
*Zero SEC Titles in over 60 years
They hired one drama queen for a coach who’s never accomplished anything of significance who then left them for a rival. They are left now with a coaching novice for a head coach and they act like they are freaking Ohio State. Truly bizarre.

They haven't had a winning season in 5 years and are complaining about not getting a night game lol. The solution is simple: win more games and you get better game times

I’m sure LSU coming off a loss to Houston in a bowl game didn’t help either.

Black Bear will come down to earth soon.
They’d be shitting themselves right now had a Black Bear fan/judge not given their QB a 6th year.
Golding will be out in no more than 3 seasons.

The SEC and ESPN seem determined to compete with the B10 in that 11am slot.
Part of the logic is that with so many quality matchups in order for them not to cannibalize ratings against each other some are being shifted into earlier slots.
But there’s no way this is something that enhances the actual experience for fans.
Having been to huge B10 matchups at noon ET and similar games at 6-7pm in the SEC there’s just no comparison in terms of the buildup and atmosphere between the same caliber game played at those two different times.
That also doesn’t touch the early season issues involved with putting fans in seats in early September in the Deep South in the midday sun when it’s 93 out.
The Bama @ Texas game from a few years back when Bryce Young drove to win late but the fans were on the verge of sunstroke because the onfield temp was like 115 comes to mind as an example of a game that could’ve been a classic that became an afterthought because it was played too early and the weather made the entire experience miserable for anyone who was there.
It’s also worth pointing out that OM @ Texas and A&M @ Bama are expected to be higher rated games that day and could easily be CFP level matchups, but I don’t understand announcing these slots this far out as we really don’t know for sure what these teams will be give transfer portal churn.

There’s 4-5 other matchups that are as intriguing. What do you expect given your first year head coach and your losing seasons to get prime time?

-Auburn just lost to Ole Miss in basketball last year
-Auburn just got beaten in their own Super Regional by Ole Miss
-Auburn has lost to Ole Miss the last 2 times they played in football
-In the last 10 years, Auburn has had 1 double-digit win season, and Ole Miss has had 3
-In the last 10 years, Auburn has had 5 losing seasons, and Ole Miss has had 3
-Lane Kiffin openly chose to stay at Ole Miss over going to Auburn
Ole Miss is a bigger dog than Auburn right now.

Tennessee is 2-46 against Final AP Top 10 opponents since 2008. I’m pretty sure if anyone needs to shut their mouth about their ability to win big games, it’s hillbilly Vol fans.
