I think all east west games should be played before division games.

Then finish season with 6 straight division games.

UGA fans are the only ones crying about this.

Auburn fans have been crying about an unfair schedule for years. They've also been trying to move to east division, as well, to avoid all the sec west games.

Auburn has never avoided anyone over the years. Remember AU play UT, UF, UGA, and Bama every year before expansion. They also played GT, FSU and Clemson on a regular basis over the years. At same time Bama was playing Vandy, MSU, Ole Miss every year.

Tell it to your Auburn buddy that accuses UGA of playing a softer schedule.

Bottom line is that Auburn cried about the unfair scheduling AND want to move to the east to avoid what is generally a tougher schedule.

I don't see another SEC team, not a single one, crying to the SEC about changing their schedule. It's an Auburn thing.

Between that absurd thinking and our gutless AD mcgoo in about 10 years from now UGA's schedule won't have even a small smidgen of old school SEC history left in it.

That's not true.

You'll still have the history of not winning NCs

Why would it be weird? Nobody cares about this game or the Bama/Tenn game outside of those four schools fans. College football will go on if this game only played every 7-8 yrs or every year in a different month. This game and the bama tenn game are the reason the SEC has the most fricked up schedule amongst all conferences. But of course our commissioner doesnt have the balls to put an end to it and demand the league run a schedule that actually makes sense.

College football will still go on and be just as exciting as its always been. It didnt lose momentum when KS didnt play Mizzou, OK didnt play NB, or when TX didnt play aTm, so why woukd it be any different if these two SEC games didnt happen but every so often?

Hell, they do play a softer schedule and only a fool would say otherwise.

No, AU wants to move to the East so they can renew their traditional rivalry with UT and UF. We swapped those games with Ole Miss and Arkansas and now A&M, which are all teams that do not excite the Auburn fanbase at home or away.

Bama is not going to complain about having to play UT and Vandy every year.

Everyone in the East plays a softer schedule by default.
I don't know why UG fans get so upset when someone mentions how Kirby is 4-5 against West teams.

"More than not, programs from other conferences aren't finishing with that slate of tough games. The whole SEC would be smart, especially legit title contenders, to shift ending schedules around if need be. If not, many SEC programs will be at a disadvantage come playoff time. "

WHAT does that have to do with changing schedules for teams who may be hot now, but turn avg.; or those who are avg. that turn hot? Do you undo a change you just made?

Why did UGA split up the UF/AU game decades ago?

Vince was the HC when these games were being played. Vince split up these games when he became AD. Do you think there was a reason or was it just for kicks and giggles?

We finally split up Auburn/Georgia back then too. Probably Arnsparger before Foley.

They are bitching about Auburn doing it. They had no idea Vince did the exact same thing decades ago. He even said it was difficult and that is why he did it. Priceless.

from your own link out of Vince's mouth

quote:

“The decision to move it was very understandable,” Dooley said. “To me, the toughest thing I ever had to do at Georgia was play our two biggest rivals — Florida and Auburn — back to back. I vowed one day when I became athletic director, I was going to change that, which I’ve done.”

btw, I posted the same quote from a different link several pages back.

I have no idea why the leghumper would even post a link showing UGA did the exact same thing for the exact same reason Auburn is doing it.

Guess you didn't hear Vince when he said it was Fl., Aub., & GT - the 3 biggest rivals all in a row...for @ least during the 25 years he was coach. Aub. is NOW complaining about 2.

&, FWIW, we still basically have Aub. & GT back-to-back.
