Can't speak for any other AU fans, but I was never excited about the program when Lebo was around. He didn't recruit, and his coaching was bad. Barbee is a great recruiter, and he has a track record for making a bad program progressively better. Just look at his 4 yrs at UTEP. Increased their win total every season. Thus my excitement. We will win a lot more games in the future simply because Barbee will bring in better talent. Not a bad coach, either.
I agree with this. The only team Lebo had that I was even remotely excited about was the year we made the NIT. That little excitement I had was simply because we were loaded with veterans. We are just horrendous talent wise right now and the injuries to Mcafee, Morena, Langford and Johnson (for most of the year) didn't help. It seems like we are making strides, even though it's not showing up in the form of wins right now. For us to have a chance, Gabriel and Sullivan have to show up and they didn't last night.

Good point, teams pick up on that too, they pack it in down low and leave us open opportunities on the perimeter....

Holding up the 5 fingers for five in a row. A la Tubbs a little bit on that one.

Im glad that someone else is ready for Green to be gone. I hope that Mitchell doesnt come back as well. Lets just get rid of all of the MG kids. I mean he is good at times but Kouassi did work on him and its all about effort. Thats what I like about all of these players. They look like they are trying especially Carl. I gained a lot of respect for that kid last night. Wish we couldve got him last year. SMH

We took Moussa over him. Once Moussa gets healthy, he'll be a good player for us. I guarantee it.

Yeah, he only had 15 points and 10 rebounds against AU. Green only has over 1600 points in his career. He only leads the team in points, rebounds and blocks. Bama would be so much better without him, since Carl has scored 28 points this year and Moussa has 19. I am sure Bama would be 20-9 without him.

I wish bama would have hired mike anderson instead of grant. I really like grant and it makes it tough to pull against you fricks. Anderson is a grade a douchebag, and it would make pulling against you a lot easier. Jamychael Green is a douche though.

I remember when some Bama fans were campaigning to go after Anderson. I'm glad we went after our top choice and got him.

He takes one cheapshot every game, but I've never thought he was a douche. I just think he's really immature.

Over him? You really dont believe that do you. Grant really wanted that kid but something fishy happend. I dont know what happend but maybe its because Grant wouldnt take Morena.

Who cares about all of that right now he isnt good for this team. Since he got back he hasnt did any bitching or anything but his attitude was horrible at first. These kids finally start acting like they arent afraid to shoot the ball and he comes back and they have to start back feeding him the ball.

Hmm very interesting. I remember when people were saying that Grant wanted those two kids to play highschool basketball in Alabama so that he could get them to play for him at Alabama. Thanks for clearing that up

Green is far and away the only post defender Bama has on this team. He is also a scorer in the low post who, unlike Jacobs, can make more than 50% of his free throws. Green is the leading rebounder and shot blocker. The only way this team advances in the tournament is if Jamychal plays well.
The AU game was ugly because that is the way AU plays. They foul you if you beat their defense. Teams can't get in any rhythm on offense.
This team's tournament success turns on the play of Green more than any other player.

Disagree with you. We play better without him.
