Looking at those posts, one mentioned Xavier Moss getting wounded. Not sure who he is, the poster said it could have been a separate incident.
$350/month for 2bdrms, is that avg price in Auburn? Some earlier post in this thread stated the apts were nice. It seems very cheap but I'm out of touch with pricing in Bama.

That's probably per person. Many of those units have 3 bedrooms and one large common living area/kitchen.

Auburn still had that image in my mind of a safe, college town. This news would be shocking even if it didn't involve football players.
It is, and they place where this happened isn't too shabby either. This is what happens when someone's Inflated ego combines with a gun. Reminds me of a quote from a movie, something like, stop taking stuff so serious or you will never get out alive. It's hard to believe some would let something like talking to a girl ruin or take the lives of five or six people. Sad situation.

That's cheap as hell, honestly. 550/month for a 2 bedroom is pretty normal in apartments like The Exchange or Garden District.

Yes this place rental rates are per person.

Thoughts and prayers to everyone in Auburn, and to the families and friends who lost people. UGGGH.

yeah I know, I was just thinking of rates for those two apartments for a 2 bedroom because I know them offhand and knew 350 is way cheap compared to the norm.

was reading the reditt you linked. Looks like Ed Christian was trying to diffuse the situation when he was shot. Man, I so hate hearing crap like this. So young with so much ahead of them.

Yeah ten years ago I know it was 400 per person and was considered one of the nicer places in auburn. Obviously when new places get built the older ones go down but as I recall this was still a very nice place. I am sure the rates went down because the real estate crash hit auburn pretty bad because of all the speculating

The Auburn rental market is extremely saturated right now. However that being said the apt complexes near campus are doing very well. That's why those rates are down. The lack of campus parking has driven a lot students to look at apts close to campus. University Heights is obviously bring their rates down to get their occupancy up.

Turquorius Vines, 23, said he was at the pool party Saturday evening at the University Heights apartments with one of his friends. He said he and his friend were approached by two other men who started arguing with them over a woman.
Vines said he punched one of the men, while his friend hit both of the men over the head with a bottle. Either one or both of the two men then started shooting, he said. He said his friend was shot and killed, while two others also were hit by gunfire. Vines said he had never before seen the men who he had been arguing with.
"It's like I lost a lung," Vines said of his friend. "I don't know how I'm going to survive this."

This has to be some of the most retarded shite I have ever heard of. "lemme pull a gun and shoot up a place not caring who I kill or maim." frick whoever did the shooting and I hope he dies screaming in pain over a long period of time.
My condolences and prayers to all the family members who are affected by this horrible tragedy.

They really need to tear down Beard Eaves and make more parking. And the new rules saying no cars can drive on Mell Street from 8-5 only made the parking situation that much worse, because now people can't get friends to drop them off.

Auburn awaits an official statement from city officials after a shooting at University Heights apartment complex on Longleaf Drive Saturday night.
A press conference is scheduled at University Heights at 11 a.m.
Two former Auburn football players Ed Christian and Ladarious Phillips, and current Auburn football player Eric Mack were the football players shot, according to social media notifications.
Social media notifications from current and former football players claim Christian and Phillips died, but Auburn police have neither confirmed or denied this information.
According to Mack's twitter account, Mack said "I appreciate all the love and prayers for me and two lost homies. May god be with their families."
The only information confirmed from Auburn Police is multiple gunshot victims at University Heights.
No suspects have been named.
The altercation possibly ignited because of a dispute about a woman, according to several bystanders interviewed outside University Heights Saturday night.
Check back for more updates as we continue to update information as soon as possible.
