Kiffin has designs on Bama and he knows that going to Auburn would remove that possibility from him.
Hell would freeze over first... speaking of which Hugh Freeze is one they actually CAN get and probably will.

The right coach for any SEC West team can win a NC. Competition is that good. And with 12-team playoff coming, SEC teams with top coaching (whether still in divisions or not) have a great shot at a NC.
The past is irrelevant.

Tuberville made similar statements. Auburn will always have more money.
It had nothing to do with Auburn being a "better offer." It had EVERYTHING to do with our AD and chancellor at the time absolutely refusing to invest in our program.

“We wanted to stay at Ole Miss,” Tuberville said
The way Tuberville remembers it, he was committed to Ole Miss at the time he made those comments but a meeting with the school’s chancellor, Robert Khayat, quickly changed all that, which led to his eventual departure to SEC West rival Auburn.
‘Chancellor, I’ll be honest with you, our coaches don’t want to go. They want to work here,” Tuberville said. “But, I’m here on behalf of them. We can’t keep doing it with smoke and mirrors. We need some help.
They could not reach an agreement and that left Tuberville and his staff to reevaluate their options, according to the coach.

I have it on good authority that Kiffin has signed a memorandum of understanding on the premise that he will sign a future memorandum of understanding for the actual Auburn job.
Understand(ing)?

I absolutely think we should go after him and make him say “no”.
And when he does say no, who will Auburn go after?

If Auburn wants him, he gone...
Not sure they do though. A lot of solid candidates coming available this offseason.

My sources have told me that Butch Jones has already taken the job and purchased a home on Lake Martin.

Ahh setting up the excuse of "well we didn't want him anyway"

Maybe they bring Urb back to the SEC? Would certainly be interesting. I hope he has some good headache medicine for when he gets his owies on the sideline.

I have it on authority from Elon Musk that Auburn wants to be the first football team to play a game on the moon. After all, they have the money to do it.
You Auburn trolls need to get a life.

Auburn should want him over Hugh Freese, Jeff Grimes, Deion Sanders, Matt Rhule.
Lane's an established and experienced SEC HC, he knows how to run a program, he is the best offensive mind in the game today. He comes with no heavy baggage that would make the old fart Aub fans blush. You'd have to pay +/-$9.5mill/yr guaranteed.

Yes, and Ole Miss has more SEC titles and National Championships?? That was a weird and incorrect flex.

This is actually only partially correct, and misleading, but I'll cut you some slack because you may not fully know what you're saying.
Auburn has more SEC titles and way more overall conference titles. Auburn is also very restrictive on how we claim older titles and could have several more if we used the criteria other teams use.
Ole miss's last conference title was in the 60s. The last time they even won the division was 20 years ago.

Barn - 8
Ole Miss - 6
Way more is 2?

Auburn also has Southern Conference and SIAA titles, which were SEC predecessors.

You have ZERO southern conference championships.
