I think it’s great you all really believe this. It makes it all that much better to read the complaints. You all clearly disregard and miss the times things have gone your way or the penalties missed on Arky’s behalf.

But please keep believing you all are targeted.

And I contend that he could only be considered a downgrade from the HC with the highest winning percentage in all of FBS, and one of the most successful runs of all time.

Being tRant's resident Boise State expert, I'm sure you are aware that outside of Petersen's phenomenal 8-year run on the blue turf, that the Broncos were a less-than-stellar 2-13 against P5 competition, their lone victories being a regular season home win over eventual 7-5 (NR) Oregon State, and a Humanitarian Bowl victory over 7-7 (also NR) Iowa State. So outside of Petersen, 'big wins' in Boise were nonexistent.

I would consider Harsin's three MWC conference championship game victories 'big wins' as well, given the context, but I can see where you would turn up your nose at such petty accomplishments.

You have to go back to the 90's to find a Boise St coach with a lower win% than Harsin. And even then Harsin was involved, as he was the QB of those teams.

quote:

Again, I feel you are overstating this 'advantage'. In terms of athletic department funding, BSU is in the middle of the MWC pack despite their dominance on the gridiron (and yes, I would consider winning their division 5 times and the CG 3 in 8 years 'dominance'. YMMV, obviously.)

It's been a few years since I've looked at the numbers, but that certainly wasn't true recently based on how much they spend on football specifically.

quote:

And of his 'multiple losses to smaller teams', 3 of those came in his worst year in 2015, which was the only full season wherein he finished with fewer than 10 regular season wins. But hey, it's hard to shake that 'underacheiver' tag once you've tarred him with it.

Apparently Boise St fans have higher standards than you do.

quote:

Obvisouly none of this will divest you of what is clearly a minority opinion on this forum (and elsewhere, Tony Franklin notwithstanding) about Harsin, just as no abysmally bad defensive performances will apparently divest you of your minority opinion about Pete Goulding.

I don't care how many people agree with me.

As for Golding - Alabama fans/insiders said he was going to get fired in 2019, after the Auburn game, then after ESD, then after the bowl game, then after NSD, then Charlie Strong was going to replace him.

And I just kept saying he wasn't going to get fired. I have no real opinion on Golding, but I do listen to what Saban says. And anyone who listened to what Saban said should have known that he wasn't going to get fired.

Instead he got a raise.

I'm not sure why you would want to bring that up.

I have no idea why Auburn fans even engage with this clown.

Because deep down you know I'm right and you are just trying to keep the hope going. But in the end, you all know you just hired the Boise St version of Mike Shula and that's hard to swallow.

While I got all you Auburn fans here, how close to ESD does it need to be before you start to worry about recruiting? Or are you guys already looking for some good transfers to fill the gaps?

I’ll bite.

We’re in on quite a few quality uncommitted guys right now. Probably end up #6 or #7 in the SEC, high teens/low 20s nationally. Not ideal, but not the unmitigated disaster that is hoped for on this forum.

Fortunately, most of the prospects we are recruiting have as shallow an understanding of Harsin’s miserable record as an HC as we do.

This is why year in and year out we continue to get fricked harder than any other team.. they know we will sit back and say and do nothing. Until we start standing up for ourselves nothing will change.

The reason why Auburn and Alabama for years have gotten so much favoritism is because the office is right there, they know the fans would come burn the office down if either team got a fumble and the refs 'reviewed' it and called it not a fumble. Our team and fans do don't shite.

You can't get a single person to agree with you on anything, not even one of your fellow Bama fans.
It really is amazing.

I guess it's possible, but you'll only be getting 4 more 4 star players max from what I can see. And that is best case.

The 2023 class will tell how Harsin can recruit.

Well the cool thing is - we get to find out in the next 2 years.

I just wish I could see your faces the moment you realize I'm right.

I’m sure you’ll show up to eat a big plate of crow when Harsin wins his first championship in a few years.

And if you’re wrong, you’ll probably say that you ”have no real opinion on Bryan Harsin”.

Always the knee jerk reactions on this board. When they fire him in five years he will have the same records as Gus did (66%). He won't be outrecruiting or outcoaching Bama and UGA (well maybe outcoaching Kirby but not out recruiting). And if Mullen gets his head out of his arse, he will be losing to the hunchback too.

Ah, my bad. Didn’t realize copying a Search results page link didn’t includr the results. Mea culpa.

Just do a SEC Rant board search with the term “Golding” and user “3down10” and you’ll get the gist.
