Shivers flattening Alabama's D was probably the best moment of last season

VOLS easily covered both with two True Freshman corners in 2018

We had these same guys last year, it didn't do shite.

So our leader in receptions is being underused.

In fairness, all of our receivers have been underused the last couple of years.

All three will be on field same time. Auburn will either hurt people with screens or the deep ball. You can’t really cover both unless you have very elite corners and you’ll need more than 1. All this will open the dive play. I’m thinking Auburn might have a special season.

I'd trade all 3 for 3 guys that are 2/10 of a second slower if it meant less predictable play calling and SEC level OL play. Over the last 6 years the former has been a big issue and the latter has been the main reason Gus looks lost on most Saturdays.

I am more concerned about Waddle than Schwartz at WR. I would be concerned about Shivers getting an outside edge though.

I think Plumlee can outrun all of them!

Schwartz has never impressed me, he is very fast but that’s about it. Stove is underrated, don’t understand how Malzahn is a supposed offensive genius but doesn’t know hot to utilize these guys except screens or wr runs.

Is this what you call easily covering? 2:02 mark

He ran a simple dig and took it to the house for a 75 yard TD. He ran right past your safety.

Auburn will be able to run end arounds either direction with elite athletes plus run bubble screens or fly patterns. That will open up the dive play.

Lol

I dont know what your schtick is, but it is cracking me up.

How does a screen or go route improve your ability to run a dive play? I see how it stresses a corner and/or safety. How exactly does it impact DL and ILB?

Quick plays to the outside negate both the DL and ILB.

That, I absolutely agree with.

Screens and go routes to the outside dont force the DL and ILB to abandon their dive responsibilities. They have no impact on defending a dive play.
There are a lot of things that can stress a linebacker. Omega happened to choose 2 things that directly have zero impact.

Meansonny,
You dumb whore, it’s so obvious that having two elite end around athletes to both sides will open up the dive. What planet did you play football on?

How does the end around force the ILB to abandon his primary responsibility on the dive?

And my comment wasnt in reference to end around. It was in reference to screens and go routes on the outside.
