Auburn has a lot of speed at WR and RB this year

WR Schwartz is a potential Olympian. WR Eli Stove is blazing fast. Both are specialists at end arounds. Shivers the RB is a track guy. I see the potential for some serious mismatches. All three will be on field same time. Auburn will either hurt people with screens or the deep ball. You can’t really cover both unless you have very elite corners and you’ll need more than 1. All this will open the dive play. I’m thinking Auburn might have a special season.

WR Schwartz

Gus will find a way to get him the ball at least 1x a game.

Don’t really need to with Nix throwing the ball.

Who are you, and what have you done with OmegaMan?

Did he wander away from the computer to look for his hat again and leave it logged in?

Auburn seems to always have some dangerous WR's. Y'all remind me of Florida in that respect.

Honest question. (I thought about starting a thread, but it might just bring out the trolls)

Do y'all think Gus will let Morris take the reins of the offense and call the plays? He has said he would in the past, but seems to get happy feet and take play calling back over fairly quickly.

Gus will never step away from the offense, but if the offense sputters a little at first, will Gus have patience and let Chad do his thing?

How does a screen or go route improve your ability to run a dive play? I see how it stresses a corner and/or safety. How exactly does it impact DL and ILB?

If there were any coach that Gus could trust to understand his schemes and lay out a game-plan, it's Morris. Together they're probably a couple of mad scientists, but can their players execute the plan?

I think he will this time.

Yes, but those were all pretty much young, yes-man type protoges. Morris is a little bit different.

That's the million dollar question.

We've heard all the right things during the offseason, but that isn't necessarily new.

If there was ever a person he would be comfortable handing over offensive control to, it is Morris. if he doesn't do it here, he never will and we will all know what the deal is.

Thats a dumb statement. Gus basically overused him at times last year. Got him the ball as much as possible.

They combined for less than 800 yards receiving last year. This isn't Madden

Seriously? I'd say he's been grossly underused. They threw to him, but he only had 11 carries rushing the ball.

Looks like he led us in receptions but that only accounted for 3 TDs.

I'm surprised he even came back to football this year, because he was on the fence.

So our leader in receptions is being underused. Plus we use him on the sweep play a few times per game

Whatever

Auburn will be able to run end arounds either direction with elite athletes plus run bubble screens or fly patterns. That will open up the dive play.

Sounds like that oline has gelled and picked up the schemes to meet the high level of execution needed to run those plays efficiently.

Let's play ball.
