Sometimes it’s okay to give credit to the opposing team, especially on the road in a hostile environment.

Yeah but I’m a gus guy. He was a class act and had a great record and beat nick saban more than anyone else. They stabbed him in the back. I’m happy for him doing well at UCF and watching auburn struggle at kenn state. Gus would have won if he was the coach.

Yeah, the loss sucks but that was a hard fought game and I’m proud if the players playing till the end.

Penn St played well too and it was a hell of environment to play in. It’s not like AU played UCLA or anything.

Gus was entertaining but he couldn't coach consistently. He beat Bama but lost too many games he should have won. His last few seasons were simply bad and the time was right to make the change.

So losing to Louisville is doing well but losing on the road against the #10 team with a chance to go to overtime on the last play is struggling. Checks out

Gus loses that game by at least 2 tds. I wouldn't have even been a tad optimistic about Auburn having a chance before the game to walk out with a W. Gus is atrocious on the road. At least the team didn't look like the moment was too big for them. Go back and watch the 2019 game in the Swamp. That moment was too big for the whole team.

Lulz. Maybe if you throw out his record against Auburn's three biggest rivals and bowl games. But yeah, great record.

Wasn’t he like 1-15 on the road vs UGA, LSU, and Bama?

Same results on the road as Gus while recruiting at a much lower level. The frickery has just begun

Saban was 7-6 his first year..

During his first year at Auburn in 1993, Terry Bowden led the Tigers to a perfect 11–0 season.

People that say this clearly don't know jack about what they're talking about.

Gus is responsible for our decimated offensive line, a lack of SEC caliber receivers and a quarterback that is only now in his third year learning to check down pass routes.

Gus was a scheme and nothing more. Sometimes his script worked and people thought he was some kind of genius because it worked on bama from time to time, but he couldn't develop talent, he sold out on his coaching staff for recruiters and couldn't recruit for need. Auburn had a losing record to all the top teams in the SEC and was sliding further behind. In his time, the guy nearly lost to Jacksonville State, had a losing record in bowls with losses to the likes of Minnesota, UCF and Northwestern and developed very little NFL talent. His recruiting (one of his few strong points...at least in rankings) was falling off by the year. People point at 2013, but once the rules changed to negate the substitution advantages he based his no-huddle on, he came back to earth hard.

His time was done here, regardless. I was skeptical of Harsin because I worry he won't be able to recruit on the level he'll need to given his experience. But after three games, there's no doubt the man is a damned good football coach. We look prepared, calm, workmanlike and play four quarters of ball. That was not the case under Malzahn. If Harsin can't step up in recruiting, he'll be gone in a few years but he's a much better COACH than Malzahn. Schemes will only take you so far.
