Cook was the number two guy but did absolutely nothing? I guess he was just there for his looks.

quote:

Cook's experience in services have developed Apple Music into a winning proposition; in a recent earnings call, Apple Music (as a subsidiary of Apple's Services divisions) was close to being deemed the size of a Fortune 100 company; a revelation which might actually occur by next year.

This is a far cry from the company Cook inherited, which had introduced iCloud to shaky ground as consumers often reported of service outages.

quote:

Cook's experiences in services have further paid off - if you'll pardon the pun - in the realm of mobile payments. Apple introduced the capability to make NFC-based payments in 2014, and two years later, the company is beginning to expand its services around the world.

quote:

On the note of competition, there's always the iPhone to consider. Under Cook, Apple has arguably cared less about technological innovation and more about proliferation. Whereas under Jobs the public could expect one iPhone per year, Cook has ramped up that figure to three - four if one considers rumours surrounding the quantity of iPhone 7 models.

Cook's iPhone strategy has hedged less around the premise that one iPhone fits all; rather, the CEO has structured his mobile offerings to the point that now there's an iPhone for everyone. Although the plastic iPhone 5c might have been a disaster, Cook has refined Apple's lineup to the point that now the 'cheap' iPhone SE is one of the company's most successful models.

quote:

That strategy is parallel to Apple's execution of the iPad, which is now one of its largest product ranges. Not only has Cook elevated the iPad to the role of content production rather than simple consumption with the Pro, the CEO has further debuted models in multiple sizes under three key lineups; that of the Air, Mini, and Pro.

quote:

The first (and incumbent) Apple Watch successfully merged fashion and technology at an intersection which Apple has capitalized on; the advent of materials and watch straps. With the Apple Watch, Cook not only oversaw the launch of an entirely new product, but a brand new operating (watchOS) as well. While the overall success of the Apple Watch is yet to be determined, the fact that it has been deemed as the world's most reliable wearable (in the opinion of consumers) speaks volumes.

No, Cook has done nothing for Apple. A dead Jobs continues to grow the company. An Auburn man could never accomplish that.

Has this thread really been hijacked by a debate about Tim Cook? On the upside, now I know who that guy is. Yesterday that wasn’t true.

Also, this Stoops thing can’t happen. After three years of hearing how Willie Cauley-Stein played wide receiver in football, there’s no way I can sit through eleventy billion references to Bob and Mark and brothers and same conference and blah, blah, blah.

I think it would be a good hire. Auburn has talent but lacks the structure that a major program needs. Stoops can provide that. Gus doesn't know how to lead a program at this level. Stools has 15 years of experience doing it a championship level. He learned under Hayden Fry, Bill Snyder, and Steve Spurrier. Gus taught himself and worked under Houston Nutt and Gene Chizik lol. Stools can actually develop players and put them in the NFL too. Big name, big splash hire, would be great for recruiting. Probably not a long term solution, but it would be great for now.

This is the biggest knock on him.

It seems he is incapable of learning. He still pulls the same bonehead in-game decisions. If his O is working, it is a thing of beauty. If it isn't, he can't make the adjustments to get it kick started. He went from not trying to fit square pegs in round holes to the exact opposite. I think he is a good person..............he just isn't cut out to run a program in this Conference.

So now Tim Cook started/owns Apple! The ghost of Steve Jobs ain't gonna like that kind of talk.

No, but as CEO his yearly stock options are more than most Athletic Depts budget. Plus his annual salary. But I guess you know very little about apple or iphones:
Hint: This is not an iPhone:

It sounds like the decision will be made in the next 24-48 hours. I expect he will stay.

Hell, most SEC schools would love to gauge his interest if they were thinking of making a move.

Arkansas took a crack at it and had ZERO chance, although he was very kind to us and said many good things

AU would be fools to not gauge interest at least.

Jerry Jones and Sam Walton say hello. Doesn't make Arkansas any more awesome - or likely to ever land Stoops - however.

You Auburn boys seem to be confused, bewildered and frustrated over the Gus "thing", and lashing out at other fans. . Don't get so upset, SkyKing...everything's gonna work itself out. Take one of those little nerve pills and a nap..you'll feel better.

He is saying a real coach would lose more than they win vs these coaches and just be fired in a few years. In other words no good coach wants that job.

Probably true. Auburn does not get a yearly Gump mulligan when we can't earn it on the field. Thus any real coach is behind the 8ball in that situation.

Only dumbass Bama fans think that Auburn doesn't fit in the elite category. Any of the big 6 in the SEC does.

Most Bama fans are willing to admit Auburn is a very good job. Elite? Depending on how you define "elite" that's debatable.

Ironic you would say this though considering how many Auburn fans tried to argue that the Alabama job wasn't even a Top 15 job nationally when Alabama was in pursuing Saban. In fact, the narrative changed from Bams fans being delusional and crazy for thinking Saban would give the Bama the time of day to Saban being a lying scumbag when he proved everyone wrong and took the job. The reaction from haters to Alabama landing Saban after rival fans laughed at even the possibility of it happening was eerily similar to how Hillary voters reacted (minus the rioting) to Trump winning the 2016 election.
