I love when rant posters take the reverends wife's persona on from the Simpsons in these situations. "The children, the children" if they did something wrong they will be punished. If it was normal nonsense escalated because of PTSD oh well.

Yeah. Occam's Razor.
Sorry, Occam wasn't part of the "fambly". The woman was at least standoffish, if not downright rude, according to reports...and you're going to tell me that one of these gentlemen responded with "Bitch" and he was referring to the DOG?
You need to get a new razor, that one has gone dull.

I'd like to get a few facts in for the trolls from other fanbases who missed the first 12 or so pages of this thread.
1) this is not a "service" dog. The woman is not disabled. It is a therapy dog. Therapy dogs are provided to veterans win PTSD to help them interact with people in public (you know, what the players were trying to do when they approached the dog)
2) every student who witnessed the incident besides the owner of the dog said this dog was not marked as a service dog, only had a collar and leash. Witnesses also said the players weren't the only ones to pet the dog, just the last before she went off.
3) all the other witnesses said she yelled at them to stop petting the dog, and that was her first communication with them. They responded like most normal humans in a defensive manner (although taking it overboard with name calling). Anybody who has ever dealt with somebody with PTSD should not be surprised if it was her that acted out first, and that she would but 100% of it on them.
4) College aged males act like assholes everyday. This is a non story. If these were frat guys you would never hear about it because anybody who did would write it off as typical and move on with their lives.
5) so goes the rant. Troll on

Why do you think that I am trying to bait Auburn fans? I think that this is stupid behavior even if the school was not listed. If this were Bama players, I assure you that I would think that it was stupid behavior and not the type of young men that I would want on our team or even at our university. I'm sorry if this offends you, but with all the crimes against women that is going on now, especially by athletes the school has to take some action. Young people are committing suicide these days because of bullying, and you think that this is ok for these guys to have done this, and the only defense you've given is "but your players did this", come on.

Not to mention, the girl's sister (the one making the tirade on Facebook) is a Bama fan.
Non-story, blown way out of proportion, sister is an attention whore, players should make an apology, and let's all move on.

The extent of what the players responded with hasn't been verified. Almost every eye witness seems to suggest that the woman has exaggerated details of this episode
I definitely believe the players were rude but I am not taking anything from her story at face value considering what other accounts suggest

not everyone in this thread is just trying to bait auburn fans. take bama my heart's post for example. i have seen enough of his posts on this and other boards to know he is a legitimate moron. pretty interesting that you constantly cry about me but never say anything to your own whacked out fans like him

Supposedly her husband is too
I would bet money that the female involved wants this to go away and accepting the apology while her husband and/or sister are pushing this hard. Could be them believing they are standing up for her and trying to right a wrong.

These crimes against women you speak of has been going on since the beginning of time; they have only started reporting them recently. This does not rise to the level of bullying so I don't know why you would even mention that except for sensationalism. This really should be a mostly non story as far as I am concerned. Kids nowadays are arse holes and there really isn't much can be done to change their culture. It starts at home and, guess what, it ain't starting at home any more.

I'll believe that when me shite turns purple, and smells like rainbow sherbet.
It's opportunistic attention whoring at its worst.

Right.
A few minutes later, they passed two gay guys in the student union, one of them yelled "fig!" and it turns out he was just using the British colloquialism to ask for a cigarette.

I doubt that VERY seriously. I don't think football is his thing.

I'm of the opinion that both parties are in the wrong and should all apologize to each other.
If she legit has PTSD, then I can forgive a public outburst at a stranger. It happens.
If she came at them first, they acted normal in being defensive.
They took it a step too far in their reaction to her by calling her a bitch. They should apologize for that.
The after math and the public crusade against them is blown way the hell out of proportion and she should apologize to them for letting it get so far of she was the first to act hostile.
Problem solved.

Social media faux rage can be miserable for whoever they're targeting... Like ruin your life type stuff... this will likely die down soon, but you never know.
It can work both ways too...
