The same. I knew this was coming. Had high hopes after Miss St but honestly wasn’t surprised at all yesterday.

This looks just like every other Gus team since 2014 except for half of 2017 when Kerryon was unstoppable.

Worse, the A&M game and UF game were going to make or break this season. I had hopes we were better than both and I still think we would beat Florida more times than not. However, we Gus'd it up so now we are going 8-4 and will have yet another off season of hotseat talk, fanbase infighting, blah blah blah. Rinse and repeat ever year since 2015.

Do you think Gus will give the Gatewood kid a shot? Nix will be fine, I think he just needs a little time. When the OL shows up he’s pretty accurate and impressive, but I think until the OL gets it together Joey G might be the answer.

I said that from the start. Gatewood is better suited to cover for the subpar Oline. He also would make the RBs and WRs jobs easier by defenses keying on him. And he doesn’t turn the ball over as much.

I mean, we did win that game so I do feel worse now. UF outplayed us. Not like it wasn't going to happen at some time and it will happen again this year. Defense played pretty well and the offense played like crap for a lot of the game. Cant block or throw the ball and that makes it hard to beat a top 10 team.

We all knew at some point our freshman QB would play like a freshman QB and he did. It will happen again and fans better be prepared for it

It was not a huge surprise

Worse because of the terrible game plan. I am now worried about Arkie and Ole Miss. Before the season most had us losing to Bama, LSU and UGA. 9-3 was our ceiling.

You can't throw out the Boobee with the bathwater.

He didnt play well either but the biggest issue we had was the QB and if you cant see that, your just looking for something else. He could have executed a tad better and we still win. Im not knocking Nix but it was just terrible. He will get better but he is not executing very well as a whole right now and it will certainly hurt us till he gets his legs under him. He missed some very easy basic throws that most QBs will make.

And the crux of the argument is that Nix could be an awesome QB under some good development, but Gus has never demonstrated that ability in my opinion. He does great when he gets a somewhat season dual threat QB that someone else, such as Mullen, has groomed. The biggest problem is that Gus refuses to acknowledge that while he may be an offense guru, he cannot teach these young QBs how to run his schemes without a good background. He is just too hard headed to ever get that golden ring he covets.

Let’s not go overboard here. It would take a serious crapping of the bed to lose to either

Gus shits the bed when the pressure is on him. This is a known fact we all seem to forget. Still a likely 9 win team at the end of the season, which is not bad considering that shitshow of an OL we have.

From watching the game Saturday, Auburn's biggest issue is the OL. They were getting no push, and nearly every running play was getting blown up at the line of scrimmage. That puts incredible pressure on the QB to deliver, and that's a big ask for a true freshman QB throwing to average WRs. Seth Williams is a good WR, but they desperately need someone else to step up and become a reliable target. And with teh running game stagnant, the Florida defense was coming after Nix every time he stepped back to throw. He had a happy feet all afternoon.

No way we were playing for a NC with Gus calling plays and a true fresh as qb. 9-3 or 8-4 is the ceiling

Remember the thread last week asking Auburn fan's why some seem to hate Malzahn.

This game was the perfect example of why. I feel the exact same as I did throughout the whole season so far. This team has the talent to make the cfp, however, there is a good chance our HC gets in the way of it.

It is but when we get receivers open in space with protection and the QB over throws the receiver who was 10 yards wide open so bad that he has to make a diving catch instead of walking into the endzone, that is only on one person. Not the Oline not the coach. Then two plays later, we get a wide open slant pass that is thrown into the dirt. No pass rush. Then next play, pass into double coverage for a pick in the endzone

Sorry, that is not on the line or the coach. Its on the QB. You cant just squander opportunities like that against good teams and win. Would you seriously tell me that is coaching? Its not but its the trendy thing to say by our crying fan base so everything on every play is just on the coach. Its really tiring

If we'd of gone 8-4 without looking lost on O this season I'd of been ok even with those loses being UF, LSU, uga and bama.

If we go 9-3 and find a win against LSU, uga or bama I will probably be ok.

However, I can say I don't mind getting beat but I am tired looking lost on O about 3 games a season.

In the end as bad as things look Saturday we some how still had our shots in the 4th and Nix just didn't make the plays.
