Why have any other criteria ? I think each Conference recognizes their Champion as the best team in their Conference, yet they allow the Playoff Committee to differ.

It is a part of the criteria but not the only part.
Every program in the conference should feel a sense of pride and joy when their team wins an SEC championship. Hell, Bama has more than 2 dozen in football alone and that's a huge source of pride and prestige in this conference. It's not like the SEC Champs are getting left out of the CFP.

Because whether you think its right or not, fans want the best 4 teams not the 4 most deserving teams. Hence why I said expanding would be the only way I see this happening.

Every SEC program that takes issue with the current format has the right to petition their Presidents & AD's to push the Conference Commissioner's to stand up for the conference and make a change. AU has a new Pres & AD, are they planning on bringing this to the table in the SEC meetings in Destin?

And we let 12 people make that decision.

And? We have similar things all over the place in the real world.

We need a committee of 64 people, fan vote, & 6 Sunway TaihuLight's to determine the correct 16 teams for a triple elimination tourney...

A joke of a committee that tried to show integrity by have Condi Rice on the Board. Then puts a bunch of fired ex-coaches on it. Of course they have to have a token female also.Too many reasons not to question the direction of CF.

If Auburn University feels the same way you do, then Leath/Greene have a seat at the table at the SEC summer meetings. They should push their agenda on Sankey and the rest of the conference members and let them know AU doesn't like the CFP format and demands a change.
Leath/Greene will then need appeal to the rest of the SEC members and persuade them to force Sankey to stand up for his conference. Then Sankey will have to appeal to the rest of the P5 and they can all change the CFP Committee members, and the criteria that the Committee uses to determine the best 4 teams in the country.
Change will not come until AU voices their opinion!

It is strange because on topics involving Bama or Saban, he comes off as one of the biggest Bama haters on this board. If it is anything else, he seems like a solid poster.

It makes this current run of Saban's soooo much sweeter. These are the best of times, and I'm old enough to have the money and young enough to be able to enjoy the hell out of it while I can still party with the best of 'em.

Why even have a regular season ?
Bama knew that they were already in the CFP and the AU game was meaningless, so they took it easy. Hence the loss.
But at least AU has a nifty little West Championship and cool UA golf shirts.
