Alabama QBs have made 21 total NFL starts in 38 years!!!
Posted on 7/17/15 at 6:53 am to RandySavage
To be fair Alabama did run the wishbone for many of those years. And had heavy run based offenses until the a brief period in the late 80s. Then again were heavy run based under Stallings, Dubose, and Franchione. The lack of coaching consistency from 2001-2006 certainly hurt things too. The last 8 years is the first time Alabama has been able be on solid enough ground to produce a NFL caliber QB.
It's way past time, so development needs to improve. With as much success as Alabama QBs once had in the NFL, it's a shame it has been so long.

Do you guys still deny his dad was soliciting for money from schools?
He and a former MSU player tried to solicit money from MSU. That wasn't a violation at the time. None of the other schools recruiting him were solicited for money.
The only evidence is that a former MSU player (Kenny Rogers) tried to get money from MSU boosters and coaches. Phone records showed ZERO call from Kenny to Auburn.
Kenny never visited Auburn with Cam.
The issue is should Cam have been ineligible at Auburn for what MSU did? Many Bama fans accuse Auburn of offering incentives. So How about R. Foster and Yeldon, they were offered money by Auburn, should Bama go on probation?

I firmly believe Mississippi state offered Cam a ton of money to go there but he instead chose auburn for free.
Now shoot me because I just made myself an auburn fan. The only explanation to believe that bull shiite

No, that never happened. I guess when you guys tell each other that shite enough it becomes true in your head.
And you might want to learn how quotation marks work.

This happened because Cam Newton is a pretty divisive figure here on the rant, and he's also the only defense Auburn fans have when questioned about Gus' ability to develop NFL talent.
Without Cam, Auburn fans would be in complete agreement - or they'd be finding some other way to deflect.
Cam Newton shouldn't serve as Gus Malzahn's NFL litmus test, but somehow he does in the minds of Auburn fans.

At least we have a defense. In about 4x the coaching span saban has never developed a legit NFL QB.

Cam Newton shouldn't count as credit for Gus. He didn't develop him into an elite QB. Newton was an elite QB even before he came to AU. He was on campus for less than a year. Newton was a 5* QB in HS, All-American in JUCO, and the no.1 JUCO player (only 5* JUCO player) when he was recruited by Auburn.

Got it, so if they are a highly rated recruit, you cant use them for development rebuttals, so we can get rid of a large number of players from everyone's argument then
