Absolutely right, and I don't understand why people don't understand that. A team that wins a conference tourney is not the conference champ, but in fact the tournament champ. The team that has poured out blood and sweat during the whole season to win the conference outright is the true champion. It's a joke to call a team that got hot at the right moment, and won a few games to win the tourney conference champions.

You're not confernce champs, idiot, just because you won some damn tourney that any team could have won just by getting hot at the right time.

Hey...stupid!!

You know if Abilene Christian wins the NCAA Tourney, they'll be National Champs...

Not Duke, because they were #1 when the tourney stated.

Lots of "regular season" champs don't make the tourney...but the conference champ AUTOMATICALLY does.

Yes they are. Regular season champs weren't even recognized at one time. Basketball has always been about end of season tournaments.

LSU had to win one more game than UT and UK to win the SEC reg. season and your destiny is not always in your hands (and you can thank AU for that)

But in the tourney, you have to win 3 or 4 games in a row and your fate is completely in your own hands. Thats the difference.

Last season, when AU shared the regular season championship: "LOL, only the tourney matters."

This season: " LOL, regular season championship matters. Anyone can get hot in the tournament."
