Except state sucks at the sports that matter

Coming from a Georgia fan? Where literally every year you say you are going to win a National title yet 1980 still hangs over your stadium like a badge of honor? I don't get it?

It's the power of the bowlcut, man. Also, Kirby is just such a saint that he literally fricking levitates above the rest of us. He's not into all that negative-recruiting nonsense. Just ask George Pickens, who invited Owen Pappoe to his live commitment ceremony where he $uddenly flipped to UG.

. Yes, an OOS student can get tuition assistance at MSU for a 27 AND a 3.5 GPA in high school, but they don't waive the OOS. I'm sure there are some stipulations which could waive OOS, but it's not based on a simple ACT score

Having a spouse who attended AU for undergrad and MSU for vet school, there are quite a few similarities, although Auburn (the municipality) has outgrown the "small college town" label since we were there in the early 80s. Starkville still fits that description, which for me is a big part of its appeal.
I do know that AU's vet school was significantly more exclusive than MSU's at the time my wife was applying - as a FL resident she couldn't even get to the interview stage at AU, but was accepted into MSU on her first attempt (which probably says as much about the lack of qualified MS residents as it does about acceptance rates at ghd two schools).
Personally I don't take the comparison of the two universities as an insult. I enjoyed my time at both.

Lmao!
I have heard from some people that in terms of dirty recruiting tactics, and pay for play, no one is dirtier than Georgia.

They are practically identical with regard to admission requirements and overall academic prowess. They both focus heavily on their engineering programs and their rivals focus more on medicine, law, business, etc. Their towns are very similar as well. Auburn has had a slight advantage over the years because of its location to the Atlanta Metropolitan Area. Otherwise, they are the exact same school.
Sounds a lot like UGA to me.

So it sounds like the only difference is the lotto.

It was back in my time also. I always thought AU Vet was one of the Top 10 in the country, MSU just behind on the next level

Seems like Auburn vet school is very tough to get in to unless you have $$$ or are from the state of Kentucky.

You get an automatic reduction in tuition for having a certain test score and gpa and being out of state. That was just the 27 ACT line. You also get all the other scholarships the instate kids do as well. but this is specifically the reduction for OOS kids

MSU has always had an outstanding Vet school, but Auburn and Texas AM were always considered elite, IMHO
