In 2017 Miss. St. had nearly 1000 applicants for 2018 vet school and 92 were accepted. To me, that sounds pretty exclusive.
In 1989 my wife was one of 300 applicants for only 45 slots and was accepted. She was one of 900+ for AU for 90 slots and didn't even get an interview. She was basically told that, as an out of state student (despite having gone to undergrad at AU as a legacy) she would have needed a 4.0 GPA just to merit consideration.

All vet schools are exclusive to the point that # of applicants is always significantly greater than the number of slots, because there are only 26 vet schools in the entire US. MSU used to struggle to fill their class with instate students because so few could meet the minimum academic requirements. perhaps that's improved over the past three decades.

Meanwhile Mississippi State waves out-of-state tuition for kids who make a certain ACT score which happens to be well below the average ACT score of Auburn freshmen.

What is the ACT score that waves out of state tuition? Avg ACT score for Auburn Freshmen is a 27. Avg score for State Freshmen is a 25.

Come to think of it, UGA and Ga Tech are basically the same school. Except GT is a better school with higher standards and graduate salaries. Oh and they have a more recent NC and final four run. I guess you could say that GT is like UGa but better in both academics and athletics.

Come to think of it, they actually have a more recent NC and final four run, so I guess you could say they

There's not an automatic waiver. They made that up.

Here's the fine print to all the tuition assistance. Notice the last line.

State has elite landscaping and forestry programs, that Auburn is just a step below on.

Auburn has an elite vet school, that State is just a step below on.

Both engineering schools are good, but not elite.

States best program is meteorology.

Not a full waiver of OOS tuition, but a 27-28 on the ACT qualifies for automatic tuition reduction of almost the entire additional cost of OOS tuition

They both focus heavily on their engineering programs and their rivals focus more on medicine, law, business, etc.

Bammer doesn't have a medical school. (Ole Miss does).

I live in Birmingham and I can tell you this is not even close to accurate. I know lots of folks who attended Auburn but their kids had to go elsewhere because they were unable to meet the acceptance requirements at Auburn

Any kid who can’t get into Auburn U. should just go to trade school.

Shiny hook, and the MSU fans are sad they didn’t think of trolling with this first?

The average for incoming State freshmen was 27 with this latest freshman class, according to an email I got not too long ago.

You do realize that Students are just passed along in Georgia and there grades are changed so they can get the Hope Scholarship to go to Georgia.
