Now if they had an Auburn or Alabama in town, the stadium, especially one on campus, will be filled and the amount of money brought into Birmingham would be huge.
Now, if all of you Auburn fans & alum want to give UAB a financial boost by playing a game in B'ham then go for it. If you want to help them market their football program then have at it. If you want to welcome them with open arms into JHS then more power to AU.
I don't care to see Bama act as the "Good Samaritan" to any program.

You do realize that AU played home games in Birmingham other than the iron bowl back in the day, right?

Auburn owes nothing to the city of birmingham other than the middle finger.

Try going to an Iron Bowl played at Legion Field during those days.
Grew up in the 'Ham and going to Iron Bowls at Legion Field. At least half that stadium was orange and blue every time. Just an excuse to get out of a neutral site and get an advantage.

Then STFU about UAB and how the Bama BOT handles its business. You're right..... Auburn University doesn't contribute jack shite.

When the Iron Bowl was at Legion Field the tickets were split. Half crimson the other half was "them". But you can't reason with them. Their indoctrination consists mainly of Alabama sabotaging their athletic programs for over a century.

Why are so many Bama fans so overtly sensitive and hostile about anything to do with UAB? I don't get it.

If Auburn and Alabama won't, I am sure Mississippi State would jump at the chance.

You're going to have away games every season. This would count as one of them.

Maybe Auburn could go to Legion Field, and that stain would collapse and end three of the state's problems at once.

I don;t think it would cost them money
Depending on what week the game would have to be scheduled, it could definitely cost the UA system money.
If Alabama is scheduled to play a cupcake for $1,000,000 and UAB could schedule a game and make $2,000,000, then the system as a whole would lose $1,000,000 by UAB and Bama playing each other instead of playing other teams.

Yeah, instead of Michigan, Penn State, Wisconsin, Southern Cal, or Florida State, lets play UAB because its good for the state....show solidarity with Auburn and UAB

You'd almost say it's night and day. Never happened before in the history of this rivalry.
