Can you guys lay out the differences between Jalen Hurts and Nick Marshall? Is there a significant difference? Are they two totally different football players? (Rhetorical)

TIA

Is Nick Marshall Hurts' ceiling? Is Marshall a fair comparison?

NM could hit deep passes?

They are different players though. NM was lightning quick and had a decently accurate hand cannon. Seemed to never get rattled as well no matter what.

Yes, Marshall threw a fantastic deep ball, Hurts isn't there yet.

NM was faster. Hurts will be able to throw a better ball eventually. NM could run the read option better than anybody I have ever seen. Hurts will be more of a complete QB with a little more marinating.

No, Marshall was quicker, Hurts is bigger. I believe Marshall was a bit faster. Both have accuracy issues.

Nick Marshall was damn good. I think Hurts has a higher ceiling though. Once he gets the timing down on the long ball, he will be a more complete qb.

I would say Marshall was faster and had a stronger arm.

Hurts is probably more accurate.

Need to hear an interview with Hurts before I weigh in.

Some already have hit on the key differences.

One thing Hurts seems to possess that Nick did is how calm and unaffected he is by his success or mistakes.

Nick was cool as ice and Hurts seems to possess the same.

Also, Hurts is just a freshman so his ceiling seems to be somewhat higher.

Nicky was a fricking magician at hiding the ball.

Marshall is a favorable comparison if Jalen develops. He might end up a better passer but I don't think he'll ever excel Nick as a runner.

He doesn't have Marshall's straight line speed but he's a bit bigger and bounces off people a bit more. His running style and look is actually more comparable to Cam than it is Marshall IMHO.

Cam is a horrible comparison to me. Nick on the other hand ran very strong for his size and bounced and ran through many tackles himself.

Probably just the way he runs in that I always feels like he's running in slow motion and then look up and he's sliding off guys and running past guys.

Cam is obviously much bigger and probably even faster. He isn't human.

Hurts ceilings is waaaay higher... nick was better at the read option game, but in terms of arm talent and touch, JH should be able to surpass NM soon (if he hasn't already).

Definetly hasn't. People forget, Marshall was a good passer, much better than he gets credit for.

Not sure about Hurts but Nick Marshall never got upset. Dude was cool as the other side of the pillow.

Nothing got him down or nervous
