After seeing the box score in another thread, why didn't we get into the endzone more?
Could we just not punch it in?
Edit: I started this in Tiger Rant I thought...

This would be true even had it been started in the proper location.

To get in the end zone, you first have to make it to the red zone.
LSU got into the red zone only twice in that game.
The first time we kicked a field goal.
The second time we got the ball down to the 5 yard line and the clock ran out to end the game.

I thought you were also royally screwed by the refs.

I'm not one of those people who think that when you've failed to do anything the previous 59 minutes that it's somehow all the refs fault that you can't punch it in to save your arse in the final seconds of a game.
I don't blame our defense for losing to Bama last year. I blame our offense for giving them the ball back instead of finishing a drive that could have given us a much more comfortable lead. Over and over again last year we left the door wide open in the 4th quarter by failing to press the advantage and finish drives.
As for 2006, it was probably just karma for Auburn coming up short in '95 with 4 shots at the end zone very late in the 4th quarter.

LSU's Offense had the ball for 40 minutes in that game, and I blame our Offense for it.

FIRST HALF interference in the end zone

granted, it's been a WHILE... but from what I remember of the game, for whatever reason Jimbo/Miles had a real reluctance to put the game on Russell's shoulders... they kept trying to run the ball on early downs and getting behind the sticks.
IMO, had LSU opened up the offense more throughout the game, you guys walk out the winner.

LSU fans are kinda sad.
When is our fan draft so I can finally live the dream as an Auburn fan?
I'm an expert tree hugger and Jimmy Buffett fan so I'll fit right in.

Yeah, that was pretty bad but still no excuse for failing to score more than 3 points in the 59 minutes prior to the potential game winning drive that wasn't.
Not every year can produce Hodson to Fuller miracle endings.

Actually if there wasn't PUI there, it would've been 7 points instead of 3 (the field goal came from that drive).
Not to mention other officiating inconsistancies. So yeah, in a close gamepoor officiating, especially if it consistantly goes against one side, can make the difference.
That said, I'm not one to think the refs always go against LSU, I've seen LSU win plenty of games on questionable calls. 2007 UF game comes to mind, as does 2004(?) Alabama - Yes, I said the refs gave LSU favorable treatment over their beloved Crimson Tide.
