As for 2006, it was probably just karma for Auburn coming up short in '95 with 4 shots at the end zone very late in the 4th quarter.

More like karma for the year before where we missed 5 field goals and y'all won in OT.

Our basic problem in that game is that we couldn't run the ball. We had 42 yards. As a team. Top two rushers were held under 20 yards each.

We passed the ball pretty well, but every time we got down to the red zone we tried to run and got stuffed.

On the last drive, we finally decided to pass for the win and got fricked. And that is what happened, in a nutshell.

LSU got into the red zone only twice in that game.

This is not true. LSU got into the red zone 5 times that game, according to the box score.

IMO, had LSU opened up the offense more throughout the game, you guys walk out the winner.

Jemarcus passed for almost 300 yards in that game. We just didn't let him throw it in the red zone.

What an awesome day that was in the SEC. Auburn/LSU classic in the afternoon and then the UF 21 @ UT 20 game that night.

Most people define red zone as on or inside the opponent's 20 yard line.

How do you define it?

I defy you to prove that LSU was on or inside Auburn's 20 yard line 5 times that day.

ETA: We were inside Auburn territory 5 times that day.

Four of those drives didn't get into the red zone. The lone drive that did was the last drive that ended with 0:00 on the clock.

Our field goal was with the ball on the Auburn 25. I misspoke earlier when I said that drive made the red zone. It did not.

Other than the aforementioned pass interference/holding no call (on the drive that resulted in a field goal), LSU did not come close to sniffing the end zone (aka the red zone) until time expired in the 4th.

shite, the defense even got us the ball at the Auburn 29 and we went backwards 9 yards and punted.

I guess the refs are to blame for that abortion of a drive.

LSU fans are the undisputed champs of remembering every bad call ever made against them. That and college baseball attendance.
