This has been an entertaining thread

Too many Aubs have been super trolling lately. Nice to get brought back down to earth by a corndog

I like how the thread is titled "The Reality" but deals with fantasy and what-ifs.

It's not really fantasy. Winning games decided by one score or less is a highly variable statistic. Typically when teams win a high percentage of one score games they regress to the mean the following year. Auburn went like 5-0 in conference games decided by that kind of margin, so it's likely that next year you will see some regression.

It is fantasy to believe that close games should count as losses and that a team staying in the game and in position to win was all just luck. By those standards every team Auburn played was just as lucky to stay with Auburn all game and we can also count the FSU game as an Auburn win since FSU won at the end and it was close. But we know that logic doesn't count because it ruins the haters fantasy.

Just like it is a fantasy that the Auburn fans here defending their school are the ones that are pathetic and not the ones that are keeping this thread going whining about Auburn's success and whining about Auburn fans defending their school.

You could say the same thing about the 2010 season...a lot of close games that could've gone either way but who really cares about 'statements' or preseason polls? Show some backbone man because it doesn't mean anything. See you October 4th!

LSU won with weather assistance...reality.

LSU ran a pro style passing offense. Auburn was mostly a running offense. It would seem that the heavy weather would favor Auburn. I think the truth of the matter is that LSU's defense does well against teams that spread and use a lot of misdirection. It's just a tough matchup for Auburn.

But, put me in the Auburn-is-back category. Because of that, and because they're the only top team in the west with a returning QB, I'd pick them #1.

I was ok with the Auburn trolling until you played the adult card.

Now you just seem sort of dumb.
