Also, the straight interstate shot from AU to Atl makes us seem closer. I used to make that trip in 90 minutes regularly when I was in school (speeding of course).
The ATL was an easy drive from Auburn. Did it frequently when I was in school there.

AU is actually closer than Athens.
In what alternate universe is this accurate?

Auburn is not closer than Athens and, as an Atlanta resident, I can confidently say that there are at least 20 times more UGA grads living in Atlanta. It's not even close
As a 7 year resident of Atl I laugh at your assessment.

Not even close. Both school's respective alumni associations have the numbers at
UGA: 90k alumni
AU: 20k alumni

This is the second time I've seen this in this thread. Athens is 70 miles from Atlanta. Auburn is a little over 100.

It will be close to a 50/50 split Sat. Promise you UGA will have no noticeable advantage at all.
Hard disagree. It will be 60/40 Georgia for the reasons stated above coupled with the fact that UGA fans have had weeks to buy tickets and Auburn fans have had to wait until Saturday night to get started.

Dawgs gonna come out, piss on Aubie's fire hydrant, then sit down to a nice meal of their own puke.

In a close game you have to figure that Auburn has the advantage with Carlson able to hit consistently from 50+ out. Outside of field goal kicking I do think that Georgia has a pretty large advantage on special teams and has to take advantage of that if they are going to win.
And, even if its only 30 yards when we do it, Gus needs to tell our punter to kick that fricker out of bounds every time.

A defenive touchdown/ special teams heroics are going to be what UGA needs to stay in the game imo.
Even if KJ doesn't play Stidham has been on a roll lately, and the lack of pressure we've been getting from our front 7 could come back to bite us again.
I see this being closer, but I still think Auburn is just clicking right now

I agree, but that's not really any different then 50/50 in a dome. It will be loud for both sides. Momentum will be huge.
Honest question, after the auburn loss have Uga fans really been super excited about this game? I guess if you live in Atl that makes sense, why not go to the game?

That's schematic... for some reason Kirby and Mel really don't like rushing more than 4. I can't figure it out. Kirby and Mel know alot more than I do, I just have to trust they'll make the necessary adjustments for the rematch. Talent-wise, our front seven are all NFL players.

It's been toned down a little because we've been licking our wounds but it's been 5 years since we've had the opportunity to play for a title. We're excited and it'll be evident on Saturday.

I can't believe this thread has made it to five pages without becoming a shite show.

I guess they feel our 4 should be able to whip their 5-6 (if the RB stays in to block)

So what and I can guarantee you it's not gonna stop
UGA fans from finding seats of warning to go to the game. And they sure as neck won't be selling to Auburn folks.
There are more UGA fans in ATLANTA than GT,AU and Clemson combined.

I don't know if you are avoiding or missing my point. My point is that AU fans are going to be more motivated to go to the game that they will probably win, than UGA fans would to go to a game that they will probably lose. This will counter the Geography (which isn't a big factor anyway) and the time. If UGA fans outnumber AU, it won't be by much, and I'll be happy to eat some crow on this one...but I expect it to be very close to 50/50.

I think he was kinda referring to the fact someone in the thread said not only were there more auburn grads living in atlanta, but that somehow auburn has geographically moved closer to atlanta than athens.

No, they probably would just rather contain him and keep extra DB's in pass coverage, than blitz him and have him run out of the pocket for a 1st down.

I think this will be a very tough game.
GA is a much better team than they showed last time.
KJ being hurt is going to make it extremely difficult to stay on the field on offense.
How did GA do as far as injuries against that dirty arse blocking scheme GA Tech employs every play?
I think Chubb will come out on fire. GA will hit us in the mouth, just like they did last time. The real question will be how we respond.
On the bright side, I think Atlanta helps our awful punting and kickoff game. So I hope we don't give up any special teams touchdowns.
Finally, this is a revenge game for GA, but that cuts both ways. Kirby will have his hands full keeping his players emotions in check and making sure they do not get dumb penalties.

Nothing major. Trent Thompson went down (wasn't from a cut) and was able to return to the game.

Man, I hope we don't try and do that. We need to spread it out a little more instead of trying to bully up the middle. Jet sweeps, screens, toss sweeps, etc... need to be in the game plan early.

With no KJ or Pettway....gonna be tough sledding for AU. Looking forward to a close one
