That is a nice idea. Guess they're pulling out the stops to keep it.

3 Craft breweries across the street. Restaurants everywhere

There is a brewery under construction in the parking lot of the Met, and over the past couple of years more than a half-dozen restaurants have been added to the immediate neighborhood where it's located.

How safe is this area? I'm not sure SEC fans would want to go to inner city Birmingham where there's tons of shootings, crime and violence.
The area around Regions Field? I'd say it's very safe. You can go online and see how gentrified the blocks around the ballpark are. It's not as if you'd be parking in Fairfield or anything like that.

They also added five (5) NCAA regulation fields adjacent to the Met, including one identically-oriented version that can be utilized to play two simultaneous games (in the event of time or weather delays).

What's the seating situation around that second field?

It only has temporarily seating that they bring in, which in the extreme case of an actual game would be pretty limited.

The main idea, I think, is that if there’s a minor delay, other teams could practice and warmup on the adjacent field so as to minimize the transition time between games at the main field.

Sorry, but that's incorrect.

The city of Birmingham extended their local mask mandate but the JeffCo health officer didn't do the same. Since Hoover didn't enact a local ordinance either, unless something changes the tourney will be mask optional.

Attendance should be 100%, OM and MSU have been wide open attendance for over a month...no spike in cases..OM dashboard shows 6 cases, was 19 last week

Shocked (not shocked) NCAA doesn't look at these schools and say we can open it up

Yes, the Trash Pandas play in Huntsville. Brand new stadium. Walking distance from my house if I had to.
