2011 says hi. And that wasn’t even a 4-team playoff.

If we stay undefeated and lose a close one to Bama in the SECCG, it would take a miracle for us since every one seems to be lotioning up their hands for ND to make it in.

NO
Unless several other teams implode and end up with two losses. That would be the only way that this could possibly happen.

You literally can't have a CFP without Alabama in it. It's never been done.

No. I would be very surprised.

Shouldn't. But I am sure you are aware that Ohio State did not win their conference last year, right? they didn't even play for their conference championship.
It gets better. They got the #3 seed!

Why does Bama get in regardless but not UGA? If anything UGA would have the better resume outside of that game with a win at Notre Dame.
Pedigree. Bama has it, we don't.

UGA gets in over an 11-1 Notre Dame.
Probably not. They would say that Notre Dame improved over the course of the season and are looking better.
They kept a Big 12 Representative out of the playoffs a couple of years ago because they did not have a conference championship game. watch them crawfish if the same happens with Notre Dame. If there is any way possible to get Notre Dame in, they will.

Remember when I told ya'll it's good for us all when SEC teams win their out of conference games?

ND would have the best resume of any 1 loss team with wins over Stanford, Michigan St, USC, NC State and Miami.

Need some total chaos to happen over the next month for both to get in. The opportunities are there though.
Penn State - Ohio State, Michigan State, possible Big 10 title game
Wisconsin- easiest path of any team to stay undefeated until Big 10 title game, would face Penn State, Ohio State, or Michigan State there
Ohio State- lose to Penn State, Michigan State, or in Big 10 final
Clemson- lose to NC State or in ACC title game
Miami- Va Tech, Notre Dame, or ACC title
Notre Dame- NC State, Miami, or Stanford
TCU- surprising Iowa State team, @ OU, Big 12 title
Ok State- WVU, OU, ISU, or Big 12 title game
OU- still looming there Ok State, TCU, WVU, or Big 12 title game
There are some possible stumbling blocks that would or could allow a 1 loss BAMA or UGA to both get in.

No way. A 1 loss Notre Dame would get in over a 1 loss Georgia, regardless of Georgia beating them. Notre Dame is the golden goose and to the NCAA it's all about the money. Can you imagine the outrage the committee would take if they put in 2 SEC teams over a 1 loss TCU, OU, Ok St, Penn St, Washington, Clemson, or even Miami?

Nope...
Hell Notre Dame will likely get in if they win out. It's all about ratings.

1 loss Bama is in no matter what.
If Georgia loses 1 in regular season and wins SECCG, they are in.
If Georgia is undefeated but loses SECCG by an score to Bama, they are out.
1 loss ND jumps 1 loss Georgia no matter what. Head to head matchup will be downplayed as early season, one point game. Heck, in that scenario, even the fact that Georgia filled half their stadium will be used in favor of putting notre dame in over Georgia.
Similar scenarios could play out to get a 1 loss Clemson, Ohio State, etc in over UGA.
The only way Georgia is assured a spot, imo, is to win out. 12-1 losing to Bama in SECCG is out no matter what. 12-1 winning SECCG could be in or out depending on what other teams are there. Bottom line is the committee will default to biggest names and perceived strength of brand.

With a head to head loss to us. And, if they watched the game, they would know we could have put up 17 more points on ND.
ETA
But yes, I do believe they would go with ND.

Head to head loss won't matter and will be easily written off. The old adage "if you are going to lose, lose early" still holds true. Early losses to top teams will be spun as a positive ("turning point", "wake up call") for both Notre Dame and Ohio State.

Georgia would need Notre Dame to keep winning, but Alabama strength of schedule is going to be pretty weak. Georgia's is going to be ok thanks to Georgia Tech (so long as they keep winning) and Notre Dame (so long as they keep winning). Alabama's wins over Fresno St and Colorado St will look ok... but those wins will be better than some SEC wins.
Still a lot of football left, but I think there's a big chance it could happen. Best chance is if Alabama wins a close game.

I disagree. Statistical strength of schedule will not matter. Bama will have a much better chance than UGA based on name cache and carry over from last year. The committee won't admit that those things play in, but they clearly do (see: OhSt last season).
Short of a blowout loss (not happening), 12-1 Bama is a lock to get in.
