I think this is the perfect example of what can happen to a coach / program after reaching a completely unexpected high and resetting expectations. Complacency is real. Also, proving that CEO coaches are only as good as their hires (could make the same case for Dabo here, but it hasn't fallen to LSU levels yet).
I don't see how Florida keeps this close. Play Jones, the more experienced QB, and there will be mistakes all over the field because they won't be able to run on UGA's front 7. Play AR and still likely to be mistakes because it's his first start... and going against that defense is no joke. If Richardson isn't as much of a threat running the ball, can he find windows to throw? And he's already got 3 interceptions this year in only 37 passes.

Does anyone remember what Saban did to Ole Miss once they were down after the Hugh Freeze mess? 66-3 in '17 and 62-7 in '18. When this bunch feels disrespected, they'll pour it on once they have the chance. This LSU defense isn't as bad as those Ole Miss defenses... but that Bama offense was with Jalen Hurts at QB, and this score could easily get there.
Georgia would, just because of the head to head, along with wins over Georgia Tech and... well, I got nothin. Auburn? I guess? At that point, they'd be at least a 4 loss team.

For Bama, wins over a terrible Florida St, Colorado St, Fresno St, LSU, Miss St, and Auburn... yeah, probably not the best schedule this year.

Strength of schedule won't be the SEC's friend this year.

Shown the door, apparently.

Looks like the UAA found clauses in his contract that can get them out of the buyout. Only way they'd do it this early.

From Montana. Played QB at Eastern Washington. Majority of his years were spent out west.

1985–1986 Eastern Washington (GA)
1987–1994 Eastern Washington (QB/WR)
1995–1999 Montana State (OC/WR/ST)
2000–2002 Louisville (WR/ST)
2003–2005 Michigan State (AHC/WR/ST)
2006 Oakland Raiders (QB)
2007 Fresno State (OC/QB)
2008–2011 Alabama (OC/QB)
2012–2014 Colorado State
2015–present Florida
Agreed. But what a helluva story for a 23 year old.
Would it surprise anybody if he ends up going to Oregon St (or some other west coast school) after this season?
Georgia would need Notre Dame to keep winning, but Alabama strength of schedule is going to be pretty weak. Georgia's is going to be ok thanks to Georgia Tech (so long as they keep winning) and Notre Dame (so long as they keep winning). Alabama's wins over Fresno St and Colorado St will look ok... but those wins will be better than some SEC wins.

Still a lot of football left, but I think there's a big chance it could happen. Best chance is if Alabama wins a close game.
Normally I'm just a reader over here... but this story is great.

It's a long podcast, but the last 30 minutes is the entire story about parties with Priscilla & Lisa Marie Presley, Monday Night Football owner's box with Jerry Jones, and how a girl breaking up with him led to Gary Parrish breaking the Albert Means scandal, and how it eventually led to his job with CBS.

It's a great listen.

Eventually, I'm going to write the story out, but the podcast is up now.

First time Tim Brando & Chris Fallica have done an interview together. Brando does his Beano Cook impression, the two tell awesome stories about the history of College Football, ESPN & College Gameday, etc.

I loved it and figured some of you might appreciate it.

I normally don't post my own links, but this was too good to not share out. Great hour of stories.

Miss St drew 16,630 for their spring game at 3pm the same day, according to SEC Country:

Here's the attendance for all spring games dating back to the 2012 season. N/A means they didn't have a spring game (stadium renovations, etc):

Redshirt first year, sit behind Hurts' junior season and learn the offense, start your sophomore season. Seems reasonable.
I remember Saban's first year at Alabama (2007), after starting 3-0 with that miraculous last second win over Houston Dale's Hogs, I figured I could run down to Tuscaloosa to catch the game. A friend and I drove 3 hours to the game, tailgated all day asking around for tickets, and nobody had extras. We got to game time and there were literally no tickets around. Found one guy that wanted $300 per seat and we turned it down. Ended up watching the game in the Ferguson Student Center with about 200 students.
It's a terrible SEC slate... and ESPN is way more focused on Clemson / Louisville on ABC at 7pm. Bama will bring eyeballs, but the college football universe will be watching Petrino and Dabo battle for ACC supremacy.
I was in Oxford last week and saw that Ole Miss team up close. I don't think Georgia has the defensive line to pressure Kelly into as many mistakes as Bama and FSU did. UGA will put up points, but Ole Miss will too.

Depends a lot on what Chubb does with the football. I think Ole Miss beats em by 2 touchdowns.
A&M is 4-0 against Arkansas since joining the SEC... and every year, after beating Arkansas, they lose at least one of their next 2 SEC games, generally followed by more losses.

And for whatever reason, after Arkansas loses this to A&M, they tend to go on a run.

I don't think either of these is built to win the west this year, but who knows. Both schedules setup nicely, aside from A&M's trip to Tuscaloosa, even though it's coming after a bye week.
