What's that got to do with this? If any of our coaches were involved with organizing payments, then they should be fired.

no coaches were involved......yet bama got a stiff probation out of it.

not sure what that has to do with bama being put on probation for a bama booster buying a kid when the coaches weren't involved.

I was thinking more of the immediate shift to nonchalant and aloof from Bama fans, but I guess there is something for everyone.

Nothing to see here. Just like the basketball stuff, the NCAA won't touch the blue bloods.

This will lead to the inevitable retirement of Saban. This looks real bad.

Uh.....they reached out and "touched" our asses in the late 80s and it took us a decade to recover. Pretty sure they probed Bama's stankcave too before Saban got there. USC also says hello....

Bama fans :

Will Wade is fricked! What could a strong arse offer possibly mean except payments?

Also Bama fans :

I mean, the guy could have been talking about anything when he said he “paid our players.” Seems like a nothingburger to me!

The Bama AD was hip to what is coming out of this trial.

I didn’t care that LSU’s head coach probably paid players, and I don’t care that some guy gave some Alabama players some money.

quote:

January 2001: Following days of rumors posted on Internet chat rooms, a newspaper in Memphis, Tenn., The Commercial Appeal, reports that a Crimson Tide booster is said to have paid a high school coach $200,000 to steer a top recruit, Albert Means, to Alabama.

quote:

February 2001: Alabama receives a preliminary letter of inquiry from the NCAA.

quote:

August 2001: Federal grand jurors in Memphis indict former Trezevant High School head coach Lynn Lang and former assistant Milton Kirk on charges of trying to sell Means to seven schools.

Sept. 6, 2001: Eight days later, Alabama receives official notice of alleged rules violations from NCAA.

quote:

Feb. 2, 2002: Alabama football receives five years probation, including a two-year postseason ban, because of a recruiting scandal in which boosters were accused of paying money for prep players.

Oh so now direct payments to players is a general claim? That’s hilarious. Considering a strong arse offer is apparently more specific than direct money payments to players

Were names, amounts and purpose mentioned? If not, it's a general claim.

Do we really want to go down this road of people calling out people for irrational hot takes on cheating?

No, I was just pointing out the hypocrisy.

quote:

Unless the explanation was basically Holy Spirit inspired I'd want him gone. Do you want the same with Wade?

Again, no. Like I said, all we wanted all along was due process and we were all called out for it because "oh he cheated" and "We all know what happened" "what else could strong arse offer mean?". But now its ok to want an explanation, right? If it turns out he did cheat, then bye Felecia.

I think you may be progressing to the anger stage already....

Youre arguing with someone thats agreeing with your take
