He's going to be fine anyway you look at it. He has an out. An Escape Goat! His name is Fitch.

The loophole was not closed. They expanded the definition of an agent to include parents for the enrollment. As in asking for money to sign.

Have they dealt with personal assistants who are rouge?

And this is something that was quickly addressed on A&M boards and why the panic is at a minimum.

The entire premise of many ranters arguments for why he's screwed (closed Cecil Newton loophole) is flawed. The two situations are not equivalent and, if it went down like that with Fitch requesting money for an autograph session, the new rule doesn't apply.

There is no rule or precedent that calls for punishment in that scenario if there is no proof Manziel knew of or saw any money. Whether he actually did or not matters not.

Just don't return any of the NCAA's phone calls, and you'll ride through the storm...

well they weren't going to win shite either way so you are right not a big deal.

That being true or not, odds are better to win more with Manziel than without him.

Sounds like aTm is in the clear with this, beside the possibility of playing an ineligible player down the road. No worries.

I hope the whole A&M shithouse goes up in flames, just for allowing an "uncle nate" to exist.

So the NCAA can tell a school a kid is eligible, then decide he's not, and punish the school for playing him?

Derrick Rose and Rhett Bomar.

refresh me on AJ, wasn't the four games actually supposed to be less but it was delayed or something?
The NCAA ruled 4 weeks but that was after UGA had already held him out for the 1st 2 or 3 games until the ruling came down...

Strange ruling tho, Green got 4 weeks for the jersey & Darius only got 2 weeks for the free trip to SoBe & $10,000(or whatever amount it was)...

We didn't. He is a high school dropout who does not attend A&M and doesn't live anywhere near College Station.

I think the only way A&M can get in trouble is if they tried to hide it. Worst case scenario for them is that he's ineligible.

Can you get into A&M as a HS dropout?

Not sure.. A.J. was investigated about the SoBe trip, he didn't go but they checked his bank records & he fessed up to sellin' the jersey...

Seems like Darius got off light cause his mom had died or something...

This is their definition of an agent. Looks like Uncle Nate fits.

The only contingency for a player who "didn't know" about money exchanges if it was said player's parent though. For Manziel to get in trouble based on the rules in place, they still have to show that he either told Fitch to seek out money for his time or found out about it after the fact. If Manziel can claim ignorance over his friend asking for money, nothing will happen.

This is all assuming of course that these "anonymous" sources are real/legit.

They said at the time Dareus was really helpful and his mom had just died, and that he was the most helpful person they'd ever investigated. I think he narked.

Nate's only a college dropout... the wright thompson peice just said 'dropout'... didn't specify what he actually dropped out of.
