Spuurier actually laughed. At the time and afterwards. Credit Spurrier for not acting little sisterish. BTW, Spurrier is not a SoCar grad. Shucks almighy right? Tobacco for everyone! Go heelcocks!

And after having September 14 circled on his calendar for almost a year, I think it would take a miracle for a Saban-coached team to lose that game.

I used to think this, but at some point I think you can go overboard. The amount of devotion Saban appears to be giving this game could easily resulted in his players coming out super fricking tight since he is essentially telling them that this is what their season is about. All they have left is to beat JFF and A&M.

JFF will play against Rice and the entire season. TAMU Chancellor has spoken in support of him. The NCAA ruling will be post season likely ALA Auburn Camgate. Rovell's "sources" have backed down. Game on...

Tbh, i see it that way too. I think some part of the Alabama football teams expects to be up 42-0 at the half, and if they end up losing going into halftime, the aggies could really have them shaken up which could result in a loss of focus.

A mindset Saban is well-known for fostering.

As so eloquently put by someone else... First rule of Politics: Never get into a war of words with somebody who buys ink by the barrel.

As an academic I am appalled that the Chancellor is even discussing that matter, much less going on the offensive. This is a topic that essentially has no bearing on his position and technically should be well beneath his need for involvement. I am starting to think that A&M is trying to goad ESPN on purpose to see if they have anything else to report that they are saving for right before the season starts while using people that are for the most part bullet proof from the NCAA.

Yeah, the fact that he went on the attack in an official release kinda blew my mind. He's a fricking university official, not some redass in the corps. He's supposed to be buttoned-down and stuffy.

He could have found a way to address the issue, effectively, while simultaneously maintaining his dignity as an administrator.

I agree. Except I'm starting to think A&M might as well change its name to Manziel U.

What do you think the "M" in "A&M" stands for?

To be clear, @NCAA has DROPPED the inquiry on Johnny Manziel. Chancellor Sharp leading the way to get NCAA's official release. #freeJohnny

The lawyers were worth whatever you paid them. Turned a guilty into an innocent just like that.

Great work.

Glad he's going to play, wouldn't want this cloud hovering over A&M this season so they can't be prevented from giving their best every week, and I'm sure the rest of CFB will appreciate that it won't get brought up every single weekend.

I don't normally trust twitter, but the guy posting that has been ahead of the curve with his info pretty much every step of the way since the whole SEC thing started back in 2010. His info has been consistently more accurate than even the stuff on the Texags pay board.

Certainly a lot of buzz about NCAA and whether an investigation into Manziel has concluded. I reached out to the NCAA this afternoon.

he apparently isn't worth very much since he sold his college career for a few grand.
