All that sounds like is ESPN started asking questions before the NCAA did.
A school would never conduct an internal inquiry based on an interview question from ESPN.
If an internal investigation was done, it was either because the school had reason to suspect something or the NCAA inquired about the incident.

I like the potential of this. Maybe you can contact the REC, see if we can get some media involved?

The reason this is good news is because 9 times out of 10, if a program conducts an investigation based on an official inquiry and claims to have found nothing, the NCAA hands down no punishment.

A&M fans I am just curious, given JFF's offseason mishaps, if he told your AD that he didn't accept any money, would you believe him?

What the hell? Is that the opening scene of some sort of weird shame porn?
Posted on 8/4/13 at 5:52 pm to Roger Klarvin
Idiot Aggies didn't know to act like they'd been there before. Manziel obviously won't listen to anybody. Doesn't want to go to class so the school says OK. Pushes an asst coach in the spring and coach says OK. The AD says we control the Tide and the sell Tee shirts. Embarassing.

No, but investigations are a bit more in depth than relying on the honor code

Sumlin has lost control.
He looks really bad in all this. Whom is dancing for whom? Sumlin is getting played like a clarinet on Frenchman St.
I was less impressed with Sumlin than anyone else at SEC media days. He inferred that he has spoken to Manziel and things would be different. Clearly not the case.

It's starting to sound like this has been an ongoing investigation for a while that is just coming out near its conclusion.
So he went to a memorabilia dealer's house to sign hundreds of autographs for the local orphanage for no compensation, right? The levels you young dipshits will go to to defend this idiot are mind-boggling.

I never said they did. I'm just saying that all of what you quoted means is that ESPN started asking questions. That doesn't necessarily mean a NCAA investigation started before that point. Or that it's anywhere near conclusion. If anything, the fact that we're just now hearing about it suggests that it hasn't been going on too terribly long otherwise they would've ran with it earlier as much hype as JFF has been getting.

An internal investigation usually gets done so the school can cover their arse if the shite hits the fan and avoid a lack of institutional control tag or to soften the blow.
