LSU senior associate athletic director Robert Munson released a statement to SI: “I can confirm there is a meeting scheduled tomorrow with Coach Wade, LSU officials and the NCAA within the parameters LSU first requested in early March. University officials have made clear their expectation for full cooperation and transparency in this first step in a process toward resolution.”

Update from esteemed LSU insider Vanilla Ice, who went at least 60% on his signing day predictions:

quote:

Sorry sons, brothers, and baws for the brief absence. I’m out of town on business and had a lot of catching up to do after the DC Sweet 16 trip. But it also wasn’t a coincidence. I was asked to stay quiet for a few days as this meeting developed.

I had posted in another thread that I was hoping to hear good news today— there was potential for a Thursday meeting. Let’s just say that Wade’s lawyers have been the busiest men in BR. Now it’s been confirmed that the meeting is set for tomorrow. This meeting has been one of the few things that we were specifically told to keep close to the vest.

All I can say is that I 100% expect Will Wade to be the LSU head coach going forward. I’ve said that all along and the latest info continues to lead itself to that outcome.

As for the players “going pro”:
I won’t comment on who was the brains behind this idea, but a huge part of these announcements was to put pressure on the admin to come to a resolution with Coach Wade. (Will y’all remind me which poster was arguing with me that Sky’s letter meant he was gone? ) The players are all in for Wade.

**Assuming Wade is back as head coach: Skylar is coming back. Javonte is coming back. Emmitt is coming back. 100% from the mouths of the horses. Obviously all three have major NBA aspirations. They want the feedback from NBA guys to learn where they need to improve to impress scouts at the next level.

We return a core of Mays, Smart, Days, Williams, and Taylor. I’ve really liked what I’ve seen from Hyatt, who will be a shooting presence we sorely missed this year.

LSU BASKETBALL IS BACK. In the upcoming days, I hope to come here to post that Will MF Wade is back.

Let’s fricking ride.

Latest rumor is Wade will likely be reinstated and Alleva is out. Associate AD Verge Ausberry to be named interim AD. It’s still a circus

Can you imagine the press surrounding a University who retains a coach caught on tape discussing paying for players and fires the AD who suspended him (at the direction of the school President)?

Yikes.

It Would truly be the inmates running the asylum at that point. Do you think that type of loss of institutional control would be grounds for dismissing LSU from the SEC?

If I were Sankey I would have to give that some serious thought if there is any sort of substance to this rumor (I highly doubt there is, rantards have been saying Wade was about to get reinstated since the day after his suspension)

Louisianans are so inbred, that they literally don't care. They would give every last shred of dignity and abandon all ethics to keep the tainted banner hanging.

I visit the Tiger Rant every day lately to catch the latest hilarity.

A Wade reinstatement wouldn't surprise me. A Wade reinstatement/retention AND an Alleva firing would shock me and look really, really awful for the school.
