That's not a direct quote with the word compensate.

Is not a standard anyone needs to meet, so what is the point of this?

Well, it wasn't my point, but I assume his point was that the language used on the recorded calls is vague enough to allow Wade some wiggle room.

Much more vague than the recorded calls discussing Zion.

You don't know that it doesn't exist. Both Yahoo and ESPN included this as a part of their stories, after independent verifying the content.

"Compensate" or some synonym or derivative was certainly used. NCAA isn't going to care anything at all about semantics.

Anyone trying to argue this is a complete moron.

You're getting caught up on precise wording - under the guise that it will provide some wiggle room, however the NCAA has no such burden to bear.

This whole thing with the FBI isn't going to impact LSU in the slightest - outside of the realm of what the NCAA decides to do with the information that becomes available.

I hope somebody is working on the flow charts as we speak.

We gotta work on a flowchart for that casino Wade did his tipoff luncheon at yesterday.

Their slot machines are used to pay the players.

L'Auberge means "Victoryland" in French.

I’m not getting caught up on anything. I don’t think the NCAA, without more, will do anything based on what’s been released so far.

The tapes don’t scare me. It’s what the NCAA might find once they start looking around that scares me. But, until that happens, I’m not going to pretend that these tapes are the final nail in Will Wade’s coffin.

I don't think anyone believes the FBI cares anything about LSU. Truthfully, I don't think they could care any less about Will Wade. However, what the NCAA decides to do with the information is a completely different matter and is why this thread exists.

I get that but my point is that there are other schools that will be involved. LSU is just the headline right now. Kentucky and maybe Tennessee needs to be concerned.

Exactly. Show us concrete evidence of an illegal payment to a player or keep moving.

There is none required. That's what you guys seem to be misunderstanding. The NCAA does not operate like the justice department of the United States. There is no burden of proof requirement. They do not have any standard minimums that have to be met. They do what they want.

The NCAA has sanctioned schools/players/coaches for not operating within the "spirit of the rules"

Ah, in that case... I'm sorry I have to do this...

'Nick Saban pays players.' - WillyTaylor21

'We're on it.' - NCAA

Right, but do you think the tapes on their own are enough to drop the hammer on LSU? That's the question at this point.

Maybe they are, but if so, that puts the NCAA in the precarious situation if tapes connected to dozens of other programs are released with similar discussions.

Don’t remember saying the NCAA needs such. My point is LSU fans shouldn’t be worried until such is produced. Mainly because this is so potentially wide-reaching the NCAA knows they can’t touch it.

We’ll see though. Until then, we’ll continue to enjoy our SEC Championship season.
