Days when the Toledo-whomever game wasn't televised

Prime time games were an event that happened once a year

The SWC

The Arkie-Texas game

Football jerseys that had sleeves-now they are basically tank tops with numbers

When the only place you saw anybody wearing multi-colored shoes was the bowling alley

Keith Jackson and Frank Broyles

The big 4 on New Years day-Sugar, Cotton, Rose, Orange

Conference champ tie- ins to bowls

When a team had a colored jersey and a white jersey and the rest of the uni stayed intact.

Plain old football stadiums-not the dance party that has become BDS

Mizlous's coverage of bowls

The REAL artificial turf

Players staying for 4 years

Not knowing who the hell u signed in Feb. until they played

Coaches who had press conferences together and it was obvious they had just left the bar

Sunday afternoon Coaches shows when they actually acted like they wanted to do it

Stanford, Baylor, TCU, Okie State, Iowa, Wisky, Florida, State, Georgia Tech, Florida State and Oregon all sucking balls.

Texas, Houston, USC, UCLA, Pitt, Penn State, Arizona State, Washington, Nebraska and Tenn all being common top 10 teams.

Lets be frank, things were better when you received score updates via horse and buggy

Well, it was a lot grittier. A lot more heady players out there. I bet the field was littered with coaches kids.

The old players don't miss this at all. I've heard some stories.

You mean guys would rather play on grass than concrete? I'm not sure I believe that.

i bet they all prefer playing in cleats that actually let you hook into the ground over just playing on running shoes

My dad played football with a leather helmet on and a potato sack for a jersey and he loved it.

Re-watching older games on Youtube is somewhat bothersome because they typically only showed a score after someone scored or at the end of the quarter/half.
